I am absolutely not relaxed about the subject, see pictures.

The wings (i.e. the cover) can hardly be described as a heat sink. The distance between the cover and the electrolytic capacitors is less than 1 mm. The mains and transformer cables even touch the heating plate.

Safe to say that it is inadequately designed with regards to heat buildup and heat disposal. Maybe not in the eyes of class A advocates but sure in the eyes of people that like stuff to last a normal lifetime.

hbtaudio, those fins look tiny. Are they also smaller than those on the old stove?

Since I haven't had an original in my hands for a long time, I can only guess, it seems to be - you can't call the cover a heat sink, it's the wings of the tiny T-beam.

The mains transformer also seems to have a smaller core than the original, but it probably has a shield winding that is connected to PE.

Honestly, as nice (by today's standards) as the circuit board may look, I like the old ones better in every respect.

Incidentally, the plastic knobs are extremely firmly glued to the axles - they can never be loosened, at least not without destroying them.

The three super-bright blue LEDs are very well glued with the usual white adhesive.

Whether the output relays are also opened by the µC in the event of a fault (i.e. DC), i.e. whether there is a kind of last resort insurance, I have not yet been able to really see! I doubt that a protective function has been established.

All in all
you are playing Russian roulette with the new flounder.

Boy oh boy.
I know,
it's actually even worse - if you had the device right in front of your eyes ... without PE we are ...

The four, insufficiently high, appliance feet are made of very cheap plastic ...

Even the base plate (the chassis) is the soft china sheet metal crap, the original had a proper chassis with transformer holder / recess / sink ...

Well I am glad I am not 😀

Often audio people are anal about slight details or imperfections. Looks, choice of opamps or regulators, power LED color…. Criticism is easy. “If you are that good why not make something better yourself?”.

But… sometimes audio people see confirmed that they use their talents right. So this device has a quality.

It would have been so easy to add a plateau bias scheme and ventilation holes in the bottom of the amp, PCB and the top. Nice sounding amp, but it will cook ☹️
Exactly - and it is precisely this inability, or let's call it “incompetence”, that is destroying the once good name of MF.

The sound is top, no question, but the execution is cheap average junk - someone was at work here who seems to have absolutely no idea - or simply thinks in other categories.
