First Watt SIT5

ambitious ones can even skip SIT, using Schaded N channel puck
Quick someone tell @codyt to BOLO for a new Babelfish… :clown:

now, just make it not using scarce Toshiba TO92 and Toshiba small mosfets .......... and job's done
Pa loves working with premium ingredients, I am sure other components would work just fine around these circles!!!

The 2SK180 version has been try. The effect of RC ckt at output summing node is stunning. 🤓

I think even today, you could find two THF-51s for the price of a single Chinese 300B. While its not “cheap” its still justifiable since a 300B has limited usage, while these industrial parts could last decades, and can be reused…. The days of 20 USD Solid state triodes are long gone!

Best,
Jose

This circuit is working, see the pictures at 1W.
With 1VAC at the output it has 1% distortion.
Is that good?
I never can calculate for different types of amps the wattage by current and voltage. Hu, hu!

H2 is at 1W fairly high, 20db higher than H3.
Current is about 2A.

Most irritating is that not the Mosfet contributes 20% to the out current, but the SIT. I understood Nelson, it should be vice versa.

I get the inverse only by adding a bit 5R resistor in the source line of the Mosfet, that cannot be the truth....

:--))

Ah, I see

:--))

I try to see the difference.....

Give me an example circuit for the DEFISIT please

if not most informative, then certainly most crazy thread
