The chassis set will be available, and soon. Not sure if directly from Gianluca only or stocked in the diyAudio store as well, but here's the overall look - (please note these are the prototypes, and these same chassis will be in the build guide. The biggest difference is production will have steel top and bottom panels, as it is better shielding.)

If you have interest in this chassis set, please say so in this thread.

Cost is not finalized and still to be determined, but somewhere in the vicinity of 200EUR, most likely less. Of course this does not include the jacks, plugs, and such.

I missed this initially--I would like a set as well.

I am expressing my interested in this chassis set.

Completed the mechanical assembly of my Pearl 3. I modified recycled enclosures, did my own brushed aluminum front and back panels. Installed wood panel inside to rise over existing metal standoff. and mounted the pcb on wood. It may help for vibration control. Power connector is not 'stupid proof' but that's what I had in stock... Guessing I won,t need the chassis after all...
Not bad ;)

On another note...

I took a chance and bought some supposed ZTX851 from "littlediode_uk" on the auction site. I received them yesterday and I suspect they are fake. The other ZTX transistors I have are marked by laser etching. These are marked with negative relief paint. Compare the two photos below. Does anyone have definitive info?

I godt 10 pcs yesterday from RS Components (picture to the right with straight legs).
A couple of weeks back I got a batch on paper rails with "bended" legs (so more leg spacing) from a trusted source at ebay. Could be vintage 851.
So the can look different. I am 99.9999 % sure they are real 851.
If they can handle 20A peak current they are probably real 851! .......but I have not tried that.

I don't have a PSU in the moment that can output 20A :)
And that is not 100% true. I have the 36V DC PSU for the VFET amp. The PSU is based on a 2 kW SMPS module. So could be done.
A charged capacitor could also be used as source for the 20A pulse?.
A fun test......even if a few 851 will smoke fast.....

I need a square wave with 1/99 duty cycle.....or so.......a very narrow "on-pulse"?
