Finished my build last week. Case of Spanish Cedar (ode to Dylan). Tung oil finish. Rear panel has 1 mm aluminum laminated to it and all switches are back there to keep the front cleaner and have less internal wiring. I polished the aluminum to 800 grit to leave a matte finish to match the volume knob I wish had a replacement for. Lid is held on with 4 very small magnets that work very well - strong enough to lift the whole thing up with the lid. Sounds excellent in front of the F5s. No microphonics, thankfully. Sealed wooden case might have helped with that and I cut a block of Magic Eraser for under the NuTube. Thanks to all of you for contributing your insights; Mr Pass, Jim, et all. I liked how the case turned out so I'm making a few more, one for an analog active crossover and another for a Bugle 3 phono stage.

Very nice! I love the woodwork.
It is probably helping to prevent the microphonics that sometimes plague the Korg NuTube.

Hmm. I just realized my Alps AK27 pot is 100K ohm, not the 50K in schematic. Will that make any difference in the B1K?
Thanks. by the way, if that is your dog, it is a great looking pup. I recently adopted a yellow Lab puppy. As to the pot, of course we are lucky that all types of pot are now legal in Colorado. Ha, ha, ha. I should have the B1K up and running by this weekend.
My avatar is an old photo of a wonderful dog, now gone, named ZoeBear. She was great and I miss her a lot. We’ve got two currently (same breed, Samoyed) one who’s 6yr and a puppy who is 7mo. We’ll meet up when the plague has passed and we can get the dogs together!
ClaudeG, thanks for your caps recommendation, I think it is quite an improvement well worth it. I currently have the same caps as you except for the 3rd, which for me is kept equal to the second and should be fine. What I immediately noticed is more low frequency "control". I have now a vanilla korg b1 nutube and one with upgraded caps so will try to switch between them more often.
I still need to find the sweet spot for H2. So far I have not found it, as certain music genres seem to suit positive better and others negative.
I am also soon replacing my Schiit saga (now on input of korg) with muses volume control. Curious to listen if this brings improvement if any..

They are the friendliest dogs you could meet...had them as next door neighbours...they loved to play with the cat in my avatar (who, sadly, has also now gone).

Looks like the full kit is history. It’s no longer in the DIY store. The link is dead. Does anyone know for sure?
If anybody is interested, I have a populated board I am willing to gift to someone.
Going to build Waynes Line stage instead.

Too many other parts in inventory that I could use on the line stage.
