Goran - thank you very much.
Many items are here for the build already - just a few caps and some resistors to complete. The board size is perfect and will fit very nicely at the back where my cheap regs are bolted at the moment - as you've seen.
The teddy regs are also done so it's just a case of connecting them all at the same time - it will be a good jump in performance I'm sure.
Is the 20 volt traffo the minimum or would 18 or 15 volts work ?
Andrew
I am using the 20V because i just have that trafo. You can use 18V without any problem, about 15V i think it should work also but im not sure because i didnt tried to run the PS with that voltage.
Hi Danico and Andrew,
The PCB for SAA7220 will look like this:
Looks great.
I apologize, it tooks me more time for designing, Im trying to make it as smaller as possible. I have a first proto-board, today ill test it and ill post some photos.
Thanks Goran.
Just take your time. I'm sure your boards will be great.
Best regards
Danico
Danico and Andrew,
Thanks for your kindness, i would like to do it faster, but my work its connected with a lot of traveling, i just came from Germany. Believe me im using every single free moments to make boards for both of you.
This PS sounds great. Danico you already know that. Andrew, you wont be dissapointed.
The next will be PCB for audio stage, im also very interested about improvements we can achieve together.
regards
Hello Danico, Andrew
Here is the picture of first board without load on the output and ~12V on the input. Also without heatsink for the BD's. Circuit works, your boards will be in green or white color, i think on white will be more visible the placements of the components from the upper side of the PCB. You can notice there is a lot space between caps because i dont know what kind you will use.
Regards
Goran

Cool board. I like it.

Thanks, you will receive it fast.

Danico the BD's for your board will be placed different so u can use any verticaly positioned heatsink you want. Same for Andrew. In the evening ill connect it to the saa 7220, and ill report how it sounds. This board is little different then those i already have for SAA7220, so Im expecting different sound.

Hey Goran,
The BD's seems ok to me.
I'm eager the hear that board. Tomorrow I will buy the parts.
The only problem here I cant get any good brand caps.
I will buy from ebay.
I wouldn't buy decent caps from eBay!
What values are you after and where are they for? If you have no access to a local supplier, I may be able to assist purchase in the uk and posting on to you??

First of all. Thanks for your offer.
Only Teapo brands common here, (chinese??,no offense, but they are size of a rise.)
Sometimes Epcos( The factory just a couple blocks from home, but no one selling them.
Rubicons ones a year, but never the size you want.
Mostly I use Oscon II and Cerafine, but I start to experiencing with Rubycon. And I like the sound of that, too.
Actually I never had problem buying off from ebay. (mostly from US and Canada) or partsexpress what I like.
As I see the board I'll need 3x 470uF 35V.
I have the other board for the TDA1541,that needs some parts but I have to take a look.
Tomorrow I can tell for sure what I am missing.
Thanks again for your kindness.
Regards
Danico

Goran Hi
That's a neat board and looks very professional !
Looking forward to hearing from you on how it sounds - report straight away please 😉
Danico - please tell me how it sounds ?🙂
You mentioned earlier you had 12 volts to the input - really ?
That would be fantastic if it were 12v as I have spare transformers.
NO problem with delays - many thanks for all the effort !

Danico - I have lots of NIchicon 470 uf - 50 v caps here if you'd like some.
I bought a large pack and have many spare - free of charge if you'd like to try them.
