I'm a little unclear about the transformer for IV stage. Which transformer should I get?
you can get the R80-36 from DIYclub, many used it.
I myself still waiting for a quote of Bud.
Klaus
So the transformers that I need for a complete DAC & IV board would be:
DAC
-------
R26-29 primary 115 X 2 : 0-9 X 3(0.7A); 9-0-9(0.7A) X 2
IV - Filament
-----------------
R26-93 primary 115 X 2 : 0-9 (1A) X 2; 0-9 (2A) X 1
IV - SSHV
-------------
R80-36 primary (0-110) x 2 /SCN: scondary (260-230-0-230-260)(90mA), 2.5-0-2.5(3A), 3.15-0-3.15) X 2(3A) X 1
Are these correct? Thanks.

You need 2 Transformator R26-29 using the 2 x 3 x 9V/0,7A for DAC
The R80-36 you use 230V -0V or 260V - 0V por SSHV
and 2,5V -(0V) -2,5V with 3,5V -0v in serial =8,5V for filament

which LT1084 should I get? They've got different output voltage 5V, 12V.

Could someone provide links to 28 pin, 24 pin and 14 pin sockets from DigiKey? I wasn't sure which ones are the correct ones.
Thanks a lot!
I went with
28 pin, digi-key part number A32875-ND
24 pin, mouser part number 571-2-1571552-8
14 pin, digi-key part number A32869-ND
Sanyo OS-CON alternatives
Any suggested alternatives for Sanyo OS-CON? I prefer to source from Mouser, and DigiKey. I found Vishay/OS-CON has very similar spec to Sanyo OS-CON. Any alternatives?

Anyone?
Is there any assembly instructions or testing manual available? I'm not sure if there's any wire links or connections that I've missed out. I can read the circuit diagram but its very difficult to follow the trails on the PCB to make sure everything is correct.
What about the issue with the left and right channels being out of sinc a few micro seconds, as a headphone user this is a concern. Could someone explain if this DAC sounds right with headphones?
Never had that issue with my B22+HD800.What about the issue with the left and right channels being out of sinc a few micro seconds, as a headphone user this is a concern. Could someone explain if this DAC sounds right with headphones?
Thanks, this seems to be the consensus although John Swenson wrote on AudioAsylum that he noticed a huge improvement after inserting an FPGA that aligned the to channels the half sample they are off. Wish I had 1/10 the skills of that guy.
Just finished the build. Took me quite a lot time but the result is very satisfactory. So far my most favorite DAC. Much prefer it than my last Buffalo32s. Very smooth, lush mids, bass is deep as expected. Treble might depend on the tubes used. I'm currently using the Siemens E88CC gold-pins.

USB option
Hi quanghao,
I'm planning to add a USB option on this DAC. Would the twisted pear usb DAC/ receiver compatible to your DAC?

I'm starting to regret building this DAC as there is no longer any support in answering my questions. From incomplete BOM to lack of guidelines and instructions. Not everyone is an expert in DAC building. I hope to eventually get mine working, otherwise it would be a complete waste of $500.
What I've resorted to do is to actually trace each path on the PCB and since it differs from Andrea's original design and component values, its proving to be very difficult and time consuming.

What i can have you now??
