Of course not. It's another prefix used as an abbreviation. At least I've learned not to labour over them thinking, nah, that can't be it, it's not a word.
At least they don't have plurals that end in S. And note I didn't say plural words, which is either a redundancy or an incorrect statement depending on how you address it.
