Yes, I noticed that too, but I am not sure the MAS9116 is easier to find.
Their specsheet is dated Dec 2000.

i am searching WM8816, MAS DA6116 and MAS9116 but didnt find any at Mouser, Digikey, Newark and others.
I asked the german distributor of MAS and they only sell in 100 unit quantities and for a crazy price.
Does anyone know a reliable source for these chips?

thanks to the guy in greece i have my wm8816. Wolfson discountinued the WM8816 and my calls to the office in Finnald and Germany went the same - "product is not availble".

Just purchased a VFD display and connected it to the WMStamp Driver board which i've got from Vetaran as a kit, but the display will not switch on, there is a +5 V as i'd checked in pin 2 on the VFD.
Another question, do i have to install the crystal Q1, C11,C12 and L2 to connect the digital supply of the PIC to make it working? These parts were not included when i received the kit.

Many LCD/VFD/OLED Displays claim that they are HD44870 compatible
but some of them are not. Read the Datasheet of your Display and compare with original HD44870 codes.

Have you tried to adjust the contrast pot on all its course? I also thought my first display was not working but then I found out the pot adjustment is very critical, can be very different from display to display and can be close to the end positions.

i'd tried adjusting the pot yesterday but still not working, I wll try more adjustment today after my work.

I'd double check the pin configuration from the driver PCB to the VFD and i am sure it's correct.
There is a 3 pin CN1 in the rigth side of the VFD module, when i shorted pin 2 and 3, all the dot characters flashes, this means that the module has a power. But why it will not switch on, i don't know.
Some more suggestion please........

my pal in germany wants to make a high end WM8816 with discret buffers in front and behind the WM8816.
As I can read in the Datasheets the WM8816 needs a feedback loop from an Op amp at the output stage. Can someone explain me why? And how we can do this with a discret buffer (like Jung buffer/ Diamond buffer)?
I think the Wm8816 needs an inverting feedback or I did missunderstand the datasheet.
