While they last...

Botte was gracious enough to have me over for a listening session...

We listened to the SissySIT "standard"; the SissySIT with the VFET-2 driver; and the Singing Bush...

I've been fascinated with driver boards, buffers etc. since I built the M2x. It's fascinating, and b/c of my lack of knowledge, it borders on magic. Botte explained the science and showed me some measurements comparing the two driver boards. Very cool!...

Now that's something interesting that would be nice to have on youtube! 🙂

Vodomore,

Thank you. I just ordered a few pairs. I just wish I had them when I was building my SissySIT, because one of the pads I was using caused issues and hours of troubleshooting, before I discovered it was not properly isolating the THF51S from the heat sink.

Interesting. The Lundahl LL1544A is an amorphous core with a PCB available for mounting. I’m having problems hearing back from Cinemag so I was thinking of going this alternative route.

I am having the same issue trying to get in contact with anyone from Cinemag 🙁

I have sent 3 emails so far, but I am now leaning toward the Jensen JT-123-FLPCH for my Sissysit build

I also found a source in the US selling small sheets of Keratherm 86/82 which you can cut to size to fit the SITs.
They are called Aileron Labs, but I haven't put an order in yet, has anyone ordered from them before?

It took about 6 months for me to get delivered. I was told laminating material has been out of stock. David is cool, but he must be very busy these days. A lot of popular professional audio processors are using their transformers these days, and demand is very high due to Covid 19 (= remote recording).

I recently purchased a few sheets from them, can easily make 2-3 outlines from one sheet for a 2SK180/THF/2SK182ES. Order a few extra in case you make a mistake. Btw I live right around the corner in Newington.

Np BRN et. al.
I believe you were very careful when building your SissySIT. The Al2O3 pad should be safer and easier to handle as it's thick, as long as carefully insulate the screws and pins for 2SK180 like SITs.

Soundhappy,

Thanks for linking those bushings, I just ordered some TW10s.

Prasi included some pre-cut thermal gaskets with my order, but I still needed bushings. Nothing like having something you know is going to prevent a transistor case short!

Cheers,

Greg

@ Ggetzoff

Thanks for kind words 🙂 Enjoy your own personalized choices for transistor mounting.
The best keratherm insulation, screws, flat and spring washers , nuts and nylon bushings.
You can choose the better ones than original Tokin with silicone pads :^)
