No more movie watching? ...Like 'Godzilla', or 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' for example? ...'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'?
About 'Edge of Tomorrow'? ...Or 'Once Upon a Time in America'?
♦ What did you see recently that left a mark in you? ...Did you ever see the flick 'The Descendants'? ...'Under the Skin'?

"The Host" kinda didn't hate it
and some of us do watch "TV", there's some interestingly dark stuff for network fodder this season - "Gotham" for one
"Last Week Tonight" John Oliver ( HBO) - can't get enough of that cheeky limey bugger

Watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier and was pleasantly surprised. Very tightly scripted, well acted, all around good action movie.
Rewatched Bourne Legacy and was more impressed the second time around. Jeremy Renner is a better actor than Damon and the dynamic between him and Rachel Weisz really makes this move work. And of course having Edward Norton and Stacey Keach as their pursuers helps.
Also got around to watching "Hoodwinked" (2005). Wow, pretty decent script and acting, but the animation looked like it was done on a pair of amiga computers. Might take a flyer on the sequel for the story possibilities.

I watched a bunch of movies since I last posted (regular), and among them I revisited this one ::

I mean nobody here watched the latest 'Godzilla' movie?
I've heard it is on par with 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' ... very very good.
* Actually I've watched them both, on Blu, and in 3D. ...Both, in my humble and honest opinion, suck. 🙂

Bob, perhaps you've superannuated out of the target demographic, or are simply bored at the re telling of such simple minded fair as Godzilla.
OTOH, I'm not too proud to admit to rather enjoying the first Captain America, but three or four more might be stretching the premise a bit thin.
I didn't quite get the buzz over American Hustle either, so a sophisticated and discerning cinephile I'm clearly not.

Good morning Chris,
Not bored but nonchalant. ...The human value in films like 'Godzilla' is non-existent. Kids love the roars, the flaming (flames crashing), the low frequencies (bass) from their subwoofers, ...all superficial stuff, you know ....
- 'Captain America' is goin' to save the world of all the bad guys, right on, right. 😉 ...Anyway it's nice to escape, to believe the unbelievable; what choice do we have now? ...The pope ain't doin' much but pray with us.
- 'American Hustle' is based on a true story, and a pathetique one @ that; the main story of our lives, here on planet earth; money and corruption.
* Some nice and smart documentaries are worth exploring; up to us to discover them and evolve in our inner selves.
Life is a long movie that last anywhere from one minute to roughly 120 years (for the hardcores). And in that film are a bunch of interactive denouements all weaved together on the cutting floor, like a web, and edited to make sense of all this non-sense. 😀
Since we are in the new space of the WWW (World Wide Web), we have been transformed into a fast highway of informations.
And 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' is a direct reflection of it.
Yeah, this world of ours is not the same than the world of theirs; oldest ancestors ever to live on this planet.
And in one billion light years from now we will reflect in today's world with some amertume, and most probably with some laughin' as well. 🙂
But then we'll be vaporized auras floating from the four coffins of the multiverse, in the vast four-dimensional space of everything since the very beginning of the creation (the big bang).
Watching movies is like watching our own life going/passing by in front of our own very eyes.
Yes, I've been watching a bunch, like I normally do, most usually, but not always with papal dedication. It's only that I am sharing less nowadays, on that waterfront. And perhaps because I am not bored but feel nonchalant.
I follow my heart, I follow what I believe is just ....

Bob- ah, yup, it all went down hill on this little wet grain of sand after the invention of agriculture
😉
😉
Chris, I could have posted all the flicks I've been watching since last I posted here in this thread, but you guys are different here; you are above the average people, smarter and more illuminated from the inside out. ...So I decided to only post what I consider worthy for such a high class audience; and for the last couple weeks or so, there is simply nothing of value that I watched on my screen. ...In real life (city, countryside, ...), yes, I saw beautiful/gorgeous looking women, but I'm just not sure how deep in the intellect it would have been to explore further. ...And I should always carry with me a pro camera, for these type of encounters, to share with you all.
Hollywood movie business is all about artifices and artifacts and CGI and kaboom explosions. ...You know what I mean. And it is simply not there that we are going to grow in intelligence and for the better good of our planet and mankind.
It's all money oriented of course.
So, with all that said and done, just keep a low profile eye in this thread, till something intelligent comes up, and worth watching.
It's a team effort (team-work), and anyone here can share intelligent stuff that they recently viewed.
And even if it isn't intelligent; it is still the free world we live in, and everything goes.
It's good to be alive, and change direction in life. ...For the best. 🙂

Wow, here @ diyaudio forums no one is watching anything good! ...Or they simply don't have the time, or they are not aware of this thread, or some' else. 🙂
* Question: The older we get; do we get easily more bored by most films comin' from Hollywood? ...Are we losing interest as older we get?
And! Younger people; are they the ones contributing to the financial successes of films? ...You know, like over $1 billion worldwide @ the box office. ... TF4

The older you get the more you say: I've seen all this crap before.
The older you get the more you say: can't take this **** anymore.
The older you get the more you say: can't take this **** anymore.
I can totally relate to that. ...A perpetual vice. ...In time and in space. ...Just more advanced technologies, that's all. The messages remain the same; valueless.
Watched "Edge of Tomorrow" and thought is was pretty darn good considering it was from Hollywood. Tight script, good action, actors with good chemistry, and slick effects. Ending was a bit too Hollywood, but can't complain too much.
Hoodwinked 2, had much much better animation than Hoodwinked, did a good riff on the original's plot, and was overall a bit better than the first.
Probably going to see Gone Girl this afternoon.

There are filmoholics (like me) 🙂 just, don`t have time to contribute, and I hate holywood garbage...
Try this for a reference:
Persona (1966) - IMDb

I saw 'Live - Die - Repeat' in 3D the other day; it was ok.
I've heard good things about 'Gone Girl'.

I saw that before; good psychologic flick.
I'm thinking rain this morning. ...It is pouring down rain here, now. ...Sky's all grey, and cloudy thick.
And I'm also thinking 'Noah', with his arch, and all that rain.
What are you thinking of? ...Did you see that film 'Noah' with Russell Crowe?

If you're asking what does our current weather make me think of - I'd have to say my daughter and son in law in Bermuda - direct hit by 2 Tropical Storms / Hurricanes within a one week period (Fay- Cat 1 & Gonzalo Cat 3 or 4 by landfall ) -
so, "Perfect Storm" - something we know really happened

I'll add Persona to my list. Saw BoxTrolls at the theatre today, decent and worth the rental. Not sure if worth the ticket price.
