... hmmm, do lighter capacitors sound better, or is it the other way around...Final VSSA weight 137g . Caps of choice; Panasonic FR and WIMA MKS4. More later ...
(contemplating quick trip home to weigh FG and FR series caps... )
Hi,
Final VSSA weight 137g . Caps of choice; Panasonic FR and WIMA MKS4. More later ...
Nice combination of caps, also the colours together too. Would be interesting to compare it with FG Nichicons. I did compare FM Panasonic against FG and the later won. Well put together AKN, now the calibration and measurements.

I think FG-s are the most heavier per volume I ever held in my hands and that is something to have in mind speaking sound-wise.
I just received VSSA V1.4 modules and parts. Lazy Cat, everything arrive in impeccable form. Very well done LC.
I did my best to make all GB members happy, thanks Cambe.
Marc,
Any progress on publishing this template? It will help people get their heatsinks ready
Thanks

I Prefer à lot to use template. I print it apply it with adhesiv tape and mark with parker drill my all. So ifyou permit i will rapidly drawn a tempate and publish it here for who want.

Hi,
An isosceles triangle (equal sides) with 42mm base and 26mm height. Am I right about the numbers LC?
VSSA Installation manual - Correction
Hi all VSSA GB members
By re-reading VSSA Installation manual I found one important thing to be corrected.
In Step 2 of Calibration adjustments the correct text should be as follows:
"Our final target for V-meter 1 reading is 4,00 V and 0 mV for V-meter 2 reading. Turn on the power supply and observe both V-meters displayed values. Clockwise rotation of TR3 will increase V value of V-meter 1 and should have no effect on mV value of V-meter 2 readings. Rotate trimmer TR3 in a direction to reach our final target goal 4,00 V reading on V-meter 1 (meaning 4,00 V/22 Ohm = 182 mA output bias current + front end bias current)."
Please make a note and calibrate output bias according to upper correction. Thanks.

I used fig.3 out of the Installation manual as a templet. Just made a copy of it and cut it out, it looks like it is pretty close to 100% of the actual size of the VSSA V1.4 PCB.
Thanks for tips. I have not be abble to do the drawig because of PC death...need some reinstallation......

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Arrived today, looks veeeeeery nice I will start assembling today...

Everything is waiting for some brilliant idea arrangement... I will post rest in my topic.
