If the sound is distorted, something is indeed wrong with the signals. Other than ringing (which can be setup issue), the shape looks correct.
One weird thing I noticed on the waveforms is the frequency of mclk and bclk. If it is 192kHz stream, they must be 24.576 and 12.288 Mhz, on the waveforms the scope shows 24.4 and 12.2. Is that correct measurement or just rounding error? What is the behavior at 176.4kHz?

Hi Vladislav,
Dac Board doesn't need 3.3v to work. I tested it with amanero what exactly pins it need to play music. It need plug, data, bclk, lrck, mclk and gnd. I didn't had time in the morning but I will find some 48khz file to check what output i get. I will try also rj and lj as df1704 should accept it as well.

Hi Vladislav,
I used only 44.1khz and 48khz files from qobuz. Results are the same. York doesn't do upsampling so it should be ok for df1704. Data scope doesn't look good and sound like music from zx spectrum 🙂 I wonder if someone got it work with i2s feeding df1704 or similar. Maybe you can try your sample with same firmware and setup to see how scope looks on data pin? I already lost hope with my board.

Ok, please let me double check everything. Unfortunately, I am currently away and can’t do any experiments with the hardware until Jan 2nd.
Hi Vladislav,
One of the forum members just confirmed to me his board works as i2s so it can't be firmware issue now. I tried today nos mode with exactly same result. Sound is distorted in same way as i2s. Maybe I can't implement isolated interface on my dac board.

Hi Marcin,
If it works with amanero, it must work with york.
Does your scope has 2 channels?
If so, can you capture data and wck lines with sync on posedge of wck? I want to see data alignment, both York and Amanero. I guess the issue is in wrong format.
Sometimes with wrong format if you set volume in Windows to min value (2), the distortion becomes less.

perhaps, the OS does oversampling. The waveforms look correct to me. Is it Windows? What is set in the audio device settings?
48khz is set in windows. Like I said the same is on aurender n100h which also don't have even upsampling capability. It doesn't matter what i connect even macbook my wife have gives same result.
Android phone as well. I just noticed one regularity that it pops out as usb device up to 24bit 192khz and that's how it set wck which I don't understand.

Hi Vladislav,
If you can check tomorrow setting of wck on york. As you can see on amanero whatever file i play wck is set correct and it set when file is playing. When pause no wck. While on york I have all the time 192k on wck even when file is not playing. My dac plays 192k now with 8nos filter that I installed. All files on amanero including 192k are sounding correct.

Hello Marcin,
I did quick test today:
1. Updated to the same firmware version using same version of the config tool
2. Set configuration to I2S 24 bit output, on-board clocking.
3. Tried to play audio with different sampling frequency setting in Windows, the waveforms below.
I'll do more tests tomorrow.
Just to double check: can you please confirm setting in this window?

Hi Vladislav,
On mine Windows 11 is 2 channel, 32bit, 48000 Hz. Changing that doesn't change behaviour of setting WCK to 192k permanently even no sound play. And like I said it doesn't matter what I connect to it, windows PC, MAC or Android Phone. Your card set correct WCK I guess from the scope pictures. Then something must be wrong with my card.

HNY @eclipsevl,
Ihaven't readed it all, so sorry if already asked : I'd like to know if the tool provided to prg it through USB makes the board compatible for AD1862 ?
Futur option with an uf-l/output header for TDA1541A simultaeous without stop clock ?
I like very much your idea of outside recloking. Should permit with few socket optionsto try some differentXtal and why not external MCLK via ufl or horizontal SMA plug.
