Hi,
How would you compare the NVE with the TI ISO7240 or AD Adum3440?
with their datasheets =)
that and the fact that those 2 were chosen by Ian as the best options for the i2s fifo buffer isolation board proto with good results.
Does anybody know where to source an isolator adapter pcb?
If not, would a group buy be feasible?
It seems to be a simple circuit even to include a LDO regulator circuit for the output portion.
regards.

Here is a good comparison of different isolators:

BCK from XO directly
Just a quick test, SCK/MCLK from XO directly (PIN 43/44 tied together) sounds better than from the standard CPLD output. Anyone else tried?
Regards

thanks. So those 2 I mentioned were the best specced back then too 😛
Reclocking the BCK
After improvement of getting MCLK from XO instead of using standard PIN 6, I tried reclocking the BCK with same MCLK and the improvement is very positive. Right now I tied PIN43/44 on CPLD together, fed MCLK to reclocker and DAC with 2K resistor. The reclocker is 74AUC1G74 D-type flip-flop at 2.5V (power pull from 3.3V with 330ohm in series). Left side is PCM5102 DAC.

Hi 2A3SET
Nice work and thanks for sharing.
How have you powered the USB/I2S board?
I may be wrong but it looks from here like you have dedicated PSU for the XO’s.
That’s something that I may try when my board arrives.🙂

Hi Domenico:
There is about 150 converters on the waitlist, how many can you deliver this time?
Regards.
Alberto.
