Here's my latest OB. Sounds great!

very nice, bookmark your site for my future build. I'm planning to use beta 15" for low bass, this 12LTA seems interesting. I had plan to use audionirvana cf 12" but will cost more than 12LTA, you just saved my budget 🙂
Project in progress
Plan is to use drivers from Visaton NoBox with slightly upgraded crossover. This is double 18 mm plywood, finished with mat poly coating. I am planing to add a pair Dynaudio D28 tweeters to this combo. Any ideas, on attaching them, my plan is to try them on back firing backwords. Advice for crossover. B200 goes as high as 16 kHz so I would like to keep the sweet sound of female voices I hear from them.. Warm regards to all OB lovers from Split - Croatia

dundo! Looking good. I'd build the smallest box possible and attach it towards the top rear of the baffle for the rear facing tweeter.
OB sub, H rame driver?
Hi there G: Which driver did you use on the H frame sub? What is the depth of the two H legs? Great project, thanks for posting. ...Michael

I wonder what the math is on these small u-frame baffles, if it helps at all compared to just a flat plank.
Eden speakers.. Open Air speakers...
The website has some great marketing BS.
"To reach that level of performance, we used the best sounding Digital Signal Processing units (DSP) and new generation Class D amplifiers to power each driver directly without any interference from passive components like capacitors, coils or resistors"
Those darn interfering passives are gone!

Yes, one can use spred spectrum to make the noise level low but over a wide frequency range. Also, if the PWM amp is close to the driver, the coil in the speaker itself is of course and inductor.

Combining horns with electrostatic panels in dipole. This is my setup until I decide what to do with the panels. Later it may not be dipole at all. 🙂

Hi jimmykl,
thanks for your post. Sorry for my late reply. I've just realized this.
How does it sound ?
to my ears wonderfull 🙂 Upper bass is nicely punchy and fast (I mean faster than any other bass reflex speakers even small monitors I have ever owned or heard.. Jantzen mid driver is also pretty lively and very well matched to tweeter units. Overall pretty balanced and extremely natural sounding speakers. Thanks to Gravesen.
Does Guney post here? Why did he raise the open baffles? I suggest putting some absorbent materials if it is for decoupling rather than raising them on spikes and creating an opening. Raising would contribute to extra cancellations wouldn't it?
Overall very nice build though, congratulations 🙂 I am sure they sound good!
Hi Kodomo,
thanks for your comments. At first I didn't know much about spikes on open baffle. I made some quick research...found some examples using spikes (Kyron, Pureaudio, Oido...) and decided to go with them. Later I did some A/B testing with large piece of wood and chose spikes.
I have just finish painting one of my "h-frame" speakers and I am excited with how it turned out so I wanted to share.
These are part of a hanging 3 way (woofer isn't hanging tho). The tweeter and mid are bg's neo3 and neo10.
I had the woodwork completed for a year just so I could listen and I am very happy with the sound and now I am very happy how they look.

Looks like it is ready for takeoff😛
Yes it does look like an aircraft engine but it isn't just for show, I also wanted to improve the h-frame performance.

Did you carve the horns yourself?
How long did that take?

I hope this is the right place for this...
OB Subwoofers rock! 😀
I really need to replace the rest of my speakers with some killer DIY OB's... (there are some wicked builds in this thread - you guys come up with some seriously cool designs!)
My OB (ok - No Baffle) 24" Subwoofers...

Finishing the project with Beyma 18LX60-V2
I started many month ago, now I am finishing it.
There are three panels that can change the place.
In the Midrange and Tweeter zone, I attached, a Lowther DX3 and A Dynaudio Esotar D330 with two D76AF in MTM.
With this mode I can make different configurations.
The crossover is a nanoDigi with three Soekris DAC. The amps. Probably Pass diy.
Any suggestion of the public ?
Best Regards

For those interested, here is the current progress on the SOB-1 using the Tang Band W8-1808 and 2x Dipole15-D16. Baffles are cut and layers glued together. Should be installing the drivers tonight. Measurements and initial active Xover with MiniDSP will be coming quickly, followed by the passive xover simulation and build.
