I have 2x6vac/800ma and 4x28v/800ma
I want to use different ugs modules and buffers that will draw much more current than the standard ugs and will run at higher voltages. So I went with 100va

Hi Gionag,
I’m sure Eric and Alex can give more details on the input impedance matching than I can.
In the meantime, the way I adjusted it in my implementation is described here: <<UGS - Muse edition - Page 25>> - 30058092 - sur le forum <<Amplis et Preamplis>> - 1056 - du site Homecinema-fr.com
Basically, without any module and without power, adjust the trimmer for each leg of the circuit in order to get the same measured resistance between AGND and the corresponding test point. I remember setting mine to 12K, but not sure if another value would be more optimal.
Hope it helps
that was gold... thankyou
Hi Folks,
Just to remember I will close the component GB this Friday.
I will start send MP to collect personal information this WE.
For the transformers, I will also collet the money ASAP to be able to do the order.
Alex

should we ad the xlr-rca socket in the GB?
should cost around 49€, don't expect any huge discount on this option ...maybe 3-4€ max

if it would male sense i would be interested if we can combine that...
Hello,
yesterday i was able to complete the assembly of the uC board.
fitted with two OLED.
was able to push the firmware into the mcu. that, BTW, after latest windows 10 update seems to have broken the Dfuse utility.
The alternative, and the recommended utility to use from st is the "Stm32CubeProgrammer".
It support's perfectly usb dfu mode, but no longer read the .dfu file.
the .dfu is easily convertible to .bin or .hex (that is supported from the new tool by the utility "dfu file manager" that came with the Dfuse demo utility.
if someone needs the converted bin file...here is the latest .dfu available from alex, converted to hex
Dropbox - UGSMusePreampPCB1.2_v2.9.3_00.hex - Simplify your life
thanks

Good job Gionag 🙂
Right I should upload the .hex file as well now that indeed STM32CubeProgrammer is the right tool to use (I am still using Dfuse on my Win10 PC BTW...)
Anyway this binary is not the latest one and thanks to Paul M trial & feedback I am going to release very soon a new one fixing several display bugs and adding new modes to control the trigger & bypass.

I will add the option in the gsheet

I suppose you have installed the dfuse before the latest windows 10 update.
If that was so, then it continue working.
I have used the latest .dfu file available on the hcfr thread. is there a new file that i am not aware of that is already uploaded somewhere ?... Anyway this binary is not the latest one ...
Thanks !
No this is just a version under debug that Paul help me to kindly validate.
As written above will be released later on.

Thanks but let's not speak too fast, I need to do the work first 🙂
So to summarize for all the software upgrade plans
1. Add bypass mode while the preamp is off
2. Add latched outputs for the trigger
3. Implement the dual encoder control of the preamp
Could you add a #4. Change the bye bye Alex shutdown msg
Changing the shutdown message is already possible since the beginning.
By the way the latest default shutdown is "bye bye ..." only.
Then Paul just confirmed me that the latest firmware v2.98 I did is working well now and seems display bug free on OLED and VFD.
I need now to spend some time on the dual encoder control for those who need this.
This is working well on my DAC already so is not difficult to integrate, just need the time to do it.
That will be the last upgrade I will do unless of course a bug is found by one of you (and then I will fix it).

Alex,
seen that the standard encoder in the bom has 64cpr.
what is the minimum / maximum number of the counts that the firmware supports ?
there is a tunable for that in the settings ?
thanks

Hello,
Any encoder should work regardless the number of steps with the way I implemented the software.
I am doing basic denounce on that portion as I am using an optical encoder which does not need it but do let me know if mechanical ones produces glitches and I may work on something more robust.
Then yes the preamp configuration menu allows to divide the steps by considering only every 4 steps.
