Bob - back to school sales at Walmart / Costco doncha know 😉
Lol, this world we live in ain't the same one as sixty years ago, when all was quiet after the second world war. There's a change in the weather...a new pattern...and it's happening everywhere on the planet...except in Quebec, Canada.
It is even affecting the number of Blu-ray movies @ Walmart and Costco...with less and less and more streaming and downloading. Old farts we can see, young dudes...they are cool with their new StarstreamX4 and Matricom G-Box machine devices.
Kodi is the new Star Wars' mascot.

I can't remember the last Abrams production I didn't enjoy, but I wonder if he can breathe enough new life into this rather tired franchise - I found the same with Jackson's Tolkien adventures - of course, we'll probably say the same at some time about Cameron's "Avatar" adventures
I'm not even sure if I can get excited about Imax 3D version of Jurassic World - opening delayed a bit, but coming to the big screen near you soon - I mean, what could possibly go wrong when you genetically modify an apex predator?

Bob, JJ is now at the helm of the SW "enterprise" as well - at least according to google 😀
Oh; as you can see I keep track on the movie front. 😀 ...I thought Star Wars was George Lucas working for Disney, in 3D. 😀 ...I guess he retired.

Last night I watched this, a documentary/interview ::

Directed by Sam Raimi ('The Exorcist').

A week after the storm and debris is still everywhere. I had to make a run to the other side of town and was amazed at how much stuff is still to be cleaned up. The power company said that 730,000 customers lost their power that afternoon.
It was quite warm today for September, warmer than some of the days in July & August. Helps make up for what has been largely a terrible summer in terms of weather. 🙂

Wonderful September weather in southern Ontario!! Lots of leaves changing and the Robin's have left for their southern homes. The great migration has begun except for me that is 🙂
Just back from a wonderful week in the Okanagan - wine trip and all - Mission Hill and the new Liquidity Winery were each in their own way delightful, and except for the drifting remnants of wildfire smoke throughout the valley, early September just after school's back in is a great time for a short trip. T-shirt and shorts weather all the way
Topped it all off with a 2 night stay at Jack Newton's little "hilltop" cabin B&B in Osoyoos
Observatory B&B
"amateur" my a$$

According to my Nest thermostat, I used nearly 25% less power in August than I did in July, and July was typical. August was cooler than usual. September started hotter than usual, but has finally seen some mid 40F nights and 68F daytime.
Kind of makes me think of the Buffalo Springfield song "For What it's Worth".

Is that the great migration to Southwest Florida? Lotsa Canadian flags in Sarasota and Longboat Key.
Yup, the birds seem to go first, I suspect to find the best spots then the rest dribble in when the snow starts to blow.Is that the great migration to Southwest Florida?
Nice pic of the Okanagan retreat, looks pretty dry.

The robin population is already thinning, and the Canadian Geese are already here.

We had our share of Canadian license plates on the east coast every winter. Most seem to be from the eastern provinces primarily Quebec. Hollywood Florida has it's own "South Canada" neighborhood where the native language is French. Most of the west coast plates are from Ontario.
Same thing with the migration from the northern US states. The east migration comes from New Jersey, New Your, and the New England states, while the west coast of Florida has Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois and surrounding states.
I believe this has to do with the interstate roads.
I-95 runs down the eastern US coast line merging into US-1 in Miami and finally ending in Key West.
I-75 runs from northern Michigan into north central Florida, over to the west coast of Florida near Tampa, following the west coast before turning east and eventually finding it's way onto US-1 toward Key West.

Mon dieu, a touch of civilisation in Florida, what's next

Surprisingly warm here for mid-September, probably warmer than July at least at mid-day. ( July was exceptionally poor this year. ) Getting cooler at night though.
19.5° Celsius here right in the now, outside sitting on my balcony...just perfect the way I like it.
...Listening to classical music (jazz earlier). Life is following its normal flow...with all the beauty and the horror. ...Oh...

yup - annual rainfall of 25cm = 9.5inches , snowfall 5.4cm = 2.1 inches
highest measured temperature 42.8 C = 109F, average of 53days a year above 30C = 95F
Osoyoos is located in one of the most unusual geographical regions in Canada. The community lies in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains creating a hot, sunny, dry climate. For this reason, the area boasts its own climate zone called "Osoyoos Arid Biotic Zone." Canada's lowest annual precipitation, warmest annual temperature, and warmest fresh water lake can be found here. This arid zone is the northern tip of the Sonoran Desert which extends from Mexico into Canada.
It is biologically classified as Canada's only desert because of the unique flora and fauna that call the area home.
great wine country from northern Okanagan Lake to the border at Oroville - over 200 vineyards and 120 wineries - you can hardly throw a rock without hitting 2 or 3
