Here is a swiss one (although not a diy effort):

in these parts of Canada, a snowblower has nothing to do with the weather.
Wouldn't it be fun if that thing could suck up urban snowblowers and toss them 126ft ?
That is really impressive.
The foreman in our plant asked that we get a portable blower/cooling system which was powered with a Chevy 8cyl engine. In the summer the combination of normal August heat and IR ovens makes it nice and toasty on the production line.
While it's been snowing all day today and much of yesterday, I think one with a v6 would be plenty here....
You call that a snow blower..this is a snow blower by crikey White Pass & Yukon Route railway - Rotary Snow Plow at Work #3 - YouTube
The locomotives plows are impressive too

While not as deep as that, we got around 12" (30cm) of snow in the last 24 hrs and it is still snowing. It wouldn't be as bad if I didn't have 125 yards (112m) of driveway to shovel.
The hard life here on the west coast of Canada. How ever do we deal with it?
apparently with almost enough humility
Put the last of my 106 octane low lead avgas in the snowblower -- it drizzled for a while and now everything is coated in a sheet of ice.

It seems that most of the east coast Canadians are here......WHY?

Howling winds here in the UK tonight.
We had a very powerful gust of wind with extreme rain that lasted for about 5 minutes at about 6:30pm local time.

This has to have been the longest and coldest winter I've experienced since coming to this country. You get to feel warm only in the shower.
1963 was the deepest cold spell i ever experienced -- but this winter has had the longest number of very cold days and nights. out in ohio where i am at present things like vines of ivy are completely wind burned by the hyper-cold and very low humidity.
All time high, for oil tank fill today, $1144.86cdn, $1.319/L +13% tax!!
Hopefully one good thing comes out of the cold, maybe kill off some evasive species, such as the Emerald Ash Borer! Take that cold critter 🙂

The good news about the cold
I'd take the cold any time over stinkbugs:
Polar vortex chill exterminated 95 percent of stink bugs in Va. Tech experiment
