The Weather

Well 34 degC at 09:30 in the morning in Bloemfontein , central south africa. If you have a west wind blowing, you can dry your washing in 15 minutes. If its an easter then it is more comfortable. Volkswagen and some other famous company's has got testing facilities down here in a place called Upington. 51 degC someday's in the shade, a very very dry heat with mosquito's that try to sting you through a steel corrugated roof. The cars get washed everyday 500 of them to see how they cope in this weather. The coldest that we get is about -11 degC with a dry weather and a southern wind that is very uncomfortable. So much better than heat, you can alway's light the fireplace or put on more clothes. But if I see the people living where it is - 40 degC, I will rather stay here. The girls are even more pretty in summer ! 😀

Down here our Summer seems to have crashed & burned. The past week the hot-air collided with several cold-fronts I guess. Raging thunderstorms driving down the temps, temperatures slowly coming up, just to be driven down again.
Today it just didn't warm up at all,74F this afternoon, maybe 66 degrees F at 10PM(Now).....yuk!
I'm going to have to close some windows I guess!

I can't believe the disaster Atlanta turned into -- kids sleeping in school -- they obviously never heard Garison Keilor talk about the "Storm Parents" out in Minnesota, nor heeded his advice -- Keilor relates how his "storm parents" were Catholic which offended his Lutheran sensibilities. It's on Youtube.

We really had local weather. Usually we are 3 or so degrees colder than in DC due to normal heat island effects of the city. This morning DC was 24 F, and we were 5. 10 miles away! 30 miles north it was 12.

I really hope this cold weather can do in the invading pythons in Florida.

A wonderful snowy day again(10cm/1" wow) 🙂 My bro up in Marathon has snow, we have a nice picture!! I call it earth cleansing, -10C(10F). Doesn't stop the squirrels and finch's eat'n up the seeds we have put out for them.
As much as I think it would be nice to live in the warm climates, I think over all, I'd miss real winter and the sleds/plows buzzing/rumbling by the house. Keeps the tourist down as well 🙂
xmas/winter without snow 🙂 eek Insects 365 days a year eek 🙂
Check out the woodpecker on the first branch, left side. His fav, this dead tree. Once he is done with it, more wood to burn. The snow bumps along the top fence rail, are the squirrel's creations. Funny to watch him go for it.
Across the street, Black river bank and the trailer park.
