actually i did tried it directly to my sennheiser 52 ohm-ish and signature was AWESOME...even though noise may have hampered the sound
what is nice with phase split is that you can trim resistor values to achieve desired signature...
i did not split phased for the mentioned ''tests'' above

How high an offset? Hearing hiss on headphones might be a sign its non suitable for line pre though.
i used the attached
You did not use the bottom one as a CCS to be b1 like? G+S I mean.
with this topology, you have zero offset...at least it is what i measured.
but VDS can vary
Voltage supply= Vds top bsp+lower bsp
please understand that i m not a pro, i just thought i could experiment on a circuit...

yes the bottom one is a ccs G+S connected

no hiss..it just sounds ''noisy''
but just an impression, nothing more.
yes might not be suitable...
but on the other hand, i previously experimented with a BOZ balanced with bsp129 and it didnt sound ''noisy''...which goes against the theory
again just impressions....
The schematic is misleading, that is why I asked.
sorry wrong schematic... i m a bit tired 🙂
so...replace jfets by b1 style bsp129 and r3 by ZERO ohm
to make a simple buffer

Maybe like "boiling"? Could be harmonic noise?
maybe...because i removed noisy trimpot from CCS source resistance for a simple resistance and it didnt change really anything....
not 100% sure about that but it was my impression anyway.
i dont know what is harmonic noise...have to look into that...
Not sure I got your schematic explanations 100% but when I will breadboard those BSPs I have around I will try a couple of configs, FFT also, and I will let you know my findings.

you mean what is connected to what?
OR how it could possibly work, how i can get relatively good sound from it?
you want me to redraw exatly how i soldered it?
anyway...i m enthusiatic to know your findings 🙂
Better redraw exactly what you soldered and how tomorrow when not tired and I will save it to test it for you at a point.
no garanteed i will get better.
i'm kind of troubled and flooded recently... with thoughts on humanity entering civilization of planetary system 🙂
peacefully of course 😉

lots of ''scandals'' surging here in canada recently...
i know the forum rules..but it was beyond me🙂
