Sorry I meant ecc803s. A typo, but I didn't use any L in there at least. 🙂

Please, sign me up for two boards if there is any left Glen.

Jacco - 6 boards
Mike W - 2 boards

Hi Glen

Thanks for posting the list of buyers.

Will you be sending schematic, parts list and component layouts with the PCB's to the people who are buying them, or will we have to wait till you post this on the forum once you sell all boards.

Just interested as I would like to start poulating the boards as soon as I get them from you.

Will you accept Paypal or better still for anyone like me in Australia direct bank deposit.

Cheers

Gary..

G’day Gary.

I’ll be posting the whole design on a dedicated webpage for everyone to see in the near future. I won’t start sending out boards until I build one up myself and full test / tweak it.

I don’t have a Paypal account, by bank draft/cheque, money order, direct deposit would all be fine.

Cheers,
Glen

Hi Glen

Thanks for the reply, keep us posted on how it is going. I will have no problems paying you locally, but some of the overseas people might if you do not take Paypal.

It might pay you to look into this, just my 2 cents worth.

Cheers

Glen,

Agreed.
Paypal would be really useful.
I don't mind paying the extra 4% or so on top to cover the paypal charges just for the convenience.
Bank transfer charges from the UK are prohibitive.

I just wish more GERMANS would have paypal.

I to wouldn't mind paying the 4% for paypal. If possible

PayPal

Hello again Glen

Please, you have to lookup PayPal and fix a PayPal account. :smash: 🙂
PayPal rules when it comes to payment's like this.
Bank draft/cheque, money order, direct deposit is totally out, the old century stuff. I think you also have to pay for cheque and maybe the other ones. Go to the bank  no no no...

Please take some time and reconsider PayPal. It's really easy to register and use as well.
Yor avatar tells us you are a really potent man of honor with good self confidence but when you tell us about this draft/cheque, money order I start to think of a grumpy old man with wrinkles who also use a phone with a dial 🙄
😉 😀

Have a nice weekend Glen and please disregard my joking if you feel angry :😉 . I'm truly a nice guy but likes to tease a little

OK guys, I’ve noted those who have added there names to the list and I will look into this Paypal thing before the boards arrive.
Sp, I'm playing around with another design using a 6SN7 for the LTP with a folded cascode VAS.

Happy Easter.

6DJ8 sounds like death... each to his own... cut the foil, run the wires to the pins you wish, use any tube?

Glen, could you please shoot me an email? Your account does not seem to have the necessary elements required to intiate such a thing... link on my webpage frontpage is ok fine.

Thanks...

Just some random thoughts, now that I went back and peer'd at the schetch-o-matic... I understand that simplicity is/was the idea, and that it was/is a worked out and prototyped working circuit... and I didn't read every post in the thread - so sorry if someone said this before...

But the achilles heel of this has got to be the blocking cap at the output?

Would not it be better to find a CT ground at the PS, for the benefit of the output, servo if necessary (gack!), and/or use two power supplies? The PS for the toobe would be fairly tiny and cheap...

Just thinking out loud here folks... mostly because I thought to myself, "hmmm... do I want to buy a few of the PCBs to play around with?"

Beware of PayPal.
It`s a fraud company IMO.
Just do a google search about keywords like "Paypal account locked" or "Paypal account frozen" etc. (BTW, this is what happened to my PP account, I can be happy that I didn`t have much money in my account at that time).
This are not only a few individual cases. There`re zillions of complaints and horror stories about PP.

There is a cheaper and safer alternative. Take a look at MONEYBOOKERS. Works very much the same as PayPal, the fee is lower (1%) and it is to be payed by the sender (not the receiver as with PP).

Sorry for the off topic rant about PayPal but everytime I see someone recommending PayPal my hair stands on end.

I have also had some issues with Paypal when someone tried to hijack my account. I am glad they "frooze" it then. I had to do a phonecall and the support solved it for me in a proffessional way.

Because Paypal rules, obviously, there is some potential fraud around Paypal. That doesn't mean it's all bad.

You don't need any DC protection circuit for this amp. Thats good. John Broskie at Tubecad like this kind of basic, safe designs. I think he is a high valued authority when it comes to ampdesigns. (mostly when it's tubes involved though)
An alternative double PSU design would probably gather even more interrest. I'm with you Bear . But I don't know if Glen would like to split the design up in to many flavours.

I would personally like to have a double pair of output transistors and maybe about 15watt power in 8 ohm. Mostly because i have some beutiful heatzinks ready for it. But then again, you have to compromise and settle the design to get it done. This fast easy to get design from Glen is a splendid project we all could compare with each other when done. Its also possible to tinker with it and do your own mods on it, if you really want, I think 🙂

I wote for the use of ECC83 though. Then I can use two of my"Holy Grail" tubes I bragged about before in this thread he he 😀
