Thanks Andy, that was spot on!

I'm glad you felt the need to explain your often verbose designs. This one is not too bad, however, the use of the tube in place of the usual SS LTP has been done before (in Italy, in fact) and would not sound much different to the real thing since its wrapped in a global nfb loop.
I did not comment personally on your use of the VAS protection scheme, if you read closely. You have some sensitivity here, it seems. The design is competent, but unoriginal.
I'm not going to dignify this diatribe with a rebuttal. Others can read it an draw their own conclusion.
AKSA said:Dignity is not necessary,
No, not for you it isn't.
AKSA said:But don't be so insanely sensitive to criticism, you will receive no feedback with that attitude.
Umm, weasel words followed by a patronising evasion, after being rebuffed with the technical side of the matter doesn’t constitute constructive criticism, nor does the true purpose of your correspondence, as revealed by your re-spelling of my surname (which you didn’t get right either):
Kleinschwantz,
PS
I haven’t claimed anywhere in this thread that using a twin triode for the LTP was a first (nor have I made any dubious claims about it's influence on the amplifiers "sound"), but I guess that is beyond you also.

Hugh,
I am deeply disappointed that you feel it necessary to stoop so low to mangle people's names in order to personally attack them. You have always stricken me as one of the more mature, sane and reasonable people on this board. What happened? Lost your moral compass?
Jan Didden
I was also a bit shocked by Hugh's post. Not his normal style.
I find also Mr. Kleinschmidt being a sensistive.

Hi Glenn,
I have the Silicon Chip 15W class A amps with separate PS so I think I could use the PS for your amp. If so I would be interested in 2 boards.

Hello, Suzy
Never considered to let your designs be more known, group buy maybe? The pcb looks really good and I'll guess the performance is quite good also.

Similar hybrid but for preamp purposes I designed last month. Super-sonics results so I warmly recomend combining SS with tubes anywhere possible. My plan is to design hybrid power amp on the same basics. I wish you successful project with 10 W A-class monoblock. Regards Andrew

Mr Projet,
lovely heatsink arrangement, what's the story with the AD/BB chips ?
(good thing i'm not Pennsylvania Dutch)

That should work. You'd just have to connect the negative rail to ground and use it as a single rail supply. Was the SC rated at 15W into 4 or 8 ohms? Depending on this the 10A will deliver either more or less than the rated 10W in 8 ohms, but the design is scalable either way.
Cheers,
Glen

So you can take a free shot????

Hi Glen,
perhaps I should not contaminate the air here but I have gathered sufficient courage to post my opinion, I can hardly get more odd than I already am, can I.
As with hybrid topology highest sound quality is achievable, it is a splendid idea. The details show the dramatic difference in our view regarding design principles. Guess (just once) which one I prefer, yours or the German guy`s on that site. I would omit the VAS stage and go for lower mu valves.
