Hi, nice to have found this thread as i'm just back from MTL audio show.
I've been doing DIY audio projects for a some time,
I have DIY cloth wire speaker cable and interconnect, and I also have a diy SUT for my denon dl103 with a variable loading pot.
I'll like to see how they sound some other gear than mine.

Hi Felix
You are welcome to join of course.
Please get a hold of Justin jjrh88 and add your kit to the google page. We'll see how we can fit this in the system(s) and schedule.
Cheers - Pierre

Hi, guys,
I haven't joined the Google group, partly because I wasn't bringing anything, and partly because when I went to join (having never done so, before), I noticed that the "first page" I accessed showed an old/closed e-mail account for me, so there's probably a few steps I would need to take in order to join. That can be fixed, of course. And whether or not I join, I'll still be attending (as usual).
However, that personal experience highlighted that we appear to be "missing a step". I think that this thread should include a little more detail (i.e. a "teaser") w.r.t. the presentations &/or equipment that are going to be featured. I'm sure that participants in the Google group know what is going on, but if we are trying to expand interest beyond our regular group (via announcements on Canuck Audio Mart, etc.), info should appear in the thread. Just my $.02.

I'll take that 2¢.
Give me a few minutes.
Have to make sure that we have a proper list on the first post of the front page.

Mark, to the front page, can you please add an Hypex NC400+SMPS1200? A few people expressed interest in this.
A productive weekend, a few pics attached.
Built this into an unusually small but highly heat sunk chassis using the non-standard (but more powerful) SMPS1200. The special power supply required a special wiring harness (a couple days to get it right) but uncork the NC400s and remove the power supply bottle neck in the standard kit, without having to resort to dual mono. Saves big bucks

Done.
And nice looking pics!
I see you have vanquished the wiring harness monster.
So how does it sound?

I don't want to mess with expectations, so I'll let you guys decide. 🙂
Thanks for posting that additional info, Mark... just what we needed.
So I think that we'll cover that $.02 out of revenue. Let's see - penny rounding = thanks for posting, Mark.

Oh no.
No pennies any more.
Robbed once again.
You're must be Marked 😉 .
Grant.
That looks like a nice line-up of builds and "lectures" to listen to, thanks. Looking forward to it. And it now appears that a few of the people I invited will be able to make it, after all.
And in a totally selfish request for me, that might or might not be worth discussing with the group: I will be asking (Dave? Mark? others?) for suggestions/advice about crossovers in an application I have. I took advantage of Owen's "moving sale" to pick up his pair of H-frame 18" Goldwoods (which he brought to one of our previous meets) & a Class D amp he used to drive them. However, I'm not sure about the "top end" I want to match up... my interest was in hearing open baffle (and MJK has a 2-way design, using passive crossover), but it might be something else altogether (BVR, for example, so that the Goldwoods basically operate like subs). I 've read enough about mini-DSP actives, PLLXO, and FAST discussions to become overwhelmed, so I don't know which direction might provide some flexibility, or perhaps, flexibility is not a wise choice.
Thanks,
Ron

Ah man, I am really bummed that I won't be in town for this!
Looks like it will be a fun day. Hope to meet you all another time soon.

Yes, Spotify with no net available.
Hi Mark.
I'm going to use Spotify for source. I've got the option to use over 3k songs offline which means no net required. That means I can't search for requests but I'll have a few minutes source available.
Grant.
Wonder if it's because of what happened last time?

Wise.
Perhaps with your great big file we could use it for other requests as well.
It depends on what other guys are bringing.
But this year we have worked hard to ensure a lot of time for listening.
It is the reason why we all try to do this in the first place!
Someone in Ottawa with calibration cassette; level, speed, etc. I can not find mine 🙁 but used it half a year ago, and would like to bring a Nak to the meeting calibrated.
Also is there free reliable software for Freq. plotting.
Hmm, no one else seems to have one. Did you find yours yet, Pavel? Which Nak?
What do you want the software for? Measuring drivers, measuring room response, or something else? For a Windows PC?
John
