I haven't been doing anything exciting in the kitchen recently other than beef chew and candied salmon but I did do some Hasselback potatoes and sous vide chicken that both came out quite good. The drums are BBQ and the thighs are 'yellow'. The potatoes have butter and rosemary ham in them and were finished with parmesan flakes.

Tomato juice would have been too easy, and yes it's cooked. If you cook this one, it tastes different and not near as good. It is a regular juice. It's not usually mixed with anything.

I had to go look to find there are in fact red persimmons, not seen them before. Yes, I was thinking pomegranate but that too is wrong. There's something both common and uncommon about what you see in that jug.
