The diyAudio First Watt M2x

This is my first thd measurement. I don't know if I did it right. The music card from the laptop used the headphone output and microphone input. Dummy load 8r
I've shown hum from the speakers before. You can see him now too.

In Arta, go to settings and select Spectrum scaling. Under Scaling select dB (V, SPL).

What are you using for attenuation between the output of the amp and input of your sound card?

I made a 10k / 1k voltage divider but I disconnected it and used the Windows mixer volume. I guess I have to repeat the measurement with an oscilloscope and an external generator?

Yay! I heard my first M2X this week. Lovely sound! A friend brought his along with an ACA and an Elekit over for a listening party. If that’s not proper motivation to complete a project, I don’t know what is!

I ordered a set of M2x boards now...
But I am thinking C2 on the main board is there for DC protection,but doesnt the transformer it self block DC so that I can leave out C2?

It has nothing to do with the AC signal from the transformer, but rather that the transformer secondary needs protection from the DC operating points of the output stage.

The cap is required.
