Tannoy 3134 DC ZM-induced purchase, service and repair

Starting to get it 🙂

usually there is no need to add more than 25% even in most boomy rooms
If I will need to add something I will have 2 access paths, on the front from the driver hole and on the back from the filter hole.
For example if adding 10% I will add 5% in the front and 5% in the back.
My room is small so it could be that I will need to work on this.

I prefer pork sausage
What density? 🙂

Well, I don’t want to talk out of turn. So, I’ll only comment on my area of experience.

My father’s side of the family is from Poland, so Kielbasa would be my go to.

It comes in longer easier to manage links!

I personally prefer mine either fresh or extra lean with a light smoke. The heavier the smoke the denser the meat for the most part. However, you do want ALL the flavors of the music to come through 😉

A major downside with the coax solution is:

The waveguide is not only very, very un-solid.

It actually, IRL, violently moves around.

It is of course clearly audiable.

So. This summer i LONG-played with a JBL titanium compression driver and the fast 15 in OB. Active. Class A.

Pretty squeaky clean. Far, far, far beyond everything else.

But. OB lacks the Horrificly lovely solid Bass Thunder of the very big box bass reflex…

In my not so Humble opinion. 🎷🙂🎸

I would like to back off slightly and be perfectly clear:

No one in all aspects fully perfect speaker build solution exists.

If anyone ever tells you such a thing exists: You are talking to a religious pure know nothing donkey brain all out clown and know nothing in reality; all out fool.

🎷🙂🎸

But…

We dont we all somewhat like or at least secretly want solid, fine, eternaly stable truths?

So. Here is mine. When it comes to speakers. 🙂

All things equal: The bigger speaker are, clearly, always, the more competent high fidelity speaker.

or you can recone these TANNOY 3859 15" DUAL CONCENTRIC ELEMENTER
I just bought those from Norway, with the help of Andynor (Thanks again!), and now I wonder where to get the low Fs recones....
First will try to restore the present problems with cone and surround, and tweeter and use them with open baffle.
But bringing them closer to proper bass production with recones is the end goal..
Any ideas?

contact Tannoy directly and also Lockwood Audio

say what you have and ask for adequate bass recones having low Fs

even local speaker repair shop can help, working on existing cones, need to change spiders for softer ones and - of course - new surrounds; proper soft cloth, or fine rubber or neoprene; any will do

surround - sicken4you at fleabay; he's hawing adequate cloth surround for 38 Tann; even if 1 roll more than original, who cares

for spider - improvise with local shop; I never had need to do that, so can't point you on right direction for purchase

say to them - goal is to have low 30-ish Hz Fs
