Tannoy 3134 DC ZM-induced purchase, service and repair

Some work. Both gaps now cleaned. They do not seem to have been opened before by me. Still dust and probably residue from speaker damping material had gotten into the gaps. Along with some metal residue. Got it all out, and topped it off with alcohol soaked paper. Succeeded using normal A4 printer paper. Metal bits came out with the help of small magnetized screwdriver.

Next to clean tweeter plastic assemblies including VC and diaphragm, with alcohol and q-tips for starters.

Edit: Additional glue in joints and dammar applied, for looks and longevity.

Alcohol works somehow. However, as the Ferrofluid carrier is a synthetic ester, a hydrocarbon solvent like alkylate gasoline (here you can buy it branded as Aspen fuel) or a light petrol should do better, as it mixes with ferroflud easily in every ratio.

Thanks for that!

Luckily, a lot of snow means I need a snow plower, and oldie Briggs & Stratton’s love that juice in sub zero temps

I’m just OCD idiot fluttering around from project to project like butterfly on acid.

Painting panels..sanding panels…walking in circles…thinking about ferrofluid.

Easter is here and guests need seats tomorrow.

I finally had to stop walking by the pile of tools, materials and Fostex I was working on for the backhorns in the sunroom.

At least I have the chambers lined now and can give the modified drivers a good listen this weekend 😉

They are near resurrection, but I consider it heresy to arise them before Jesus Christ, so I am getting on with it after Easter.

I received a bottle. Is it to be considered schnaps and so a psychological flux density evener, or do I actually put it inside the gap?
