Sony VFET Amplifier Part 2

Since a limited quantity of the parts does exist, making this happen is mostly
an exercise in logistics.

I contacted the ever-competent 6L6 and we are discussing it.

Three obvious options:

kit with matched dual pairs

kit with single pairs

kit using P channel only.

Acronman informs me that the P channel parts are moving.

Given that we have a good source for some more 2SJ28's, this would be good.
Meanwhile, I am still making arrangements to get some available,
i think through the DIYAudio store.

so why buy the one part when the complimentary isn't available, or have I missed something here?

@ Luke & Diyers

Yes you can look at dear Nelson Pass message and the DiyAudio Store
Vfet 2 Push-pull kit project with 2SK82 |2SJ28 matched pairs and pcb's.
LS jfet's B grade for this amp be available too in DiyA store soon i hope.
Personally i find 4 LS jfets pairs at the store with patience :)
You could buy some Acronman 2Sj28 for adapted topology amplifiers.
Gooood news & all of this is happen because serious forum team give energy every day

I was thinking of building 4 boards with 1 pair of K82/K28s each. I would then bridge two boards per channel ( +/- inputs).

The advantage I see is that I wouldn't need to match VFETS.
One disadvantage is that there would be twice the parts count.

I'm leaning toward the single pair unbridged, as this will give us about the
same amount of power and will solve the problem of people without
matched pairs.

I'm currently building up some more of these, and will examine the
performance of single pair while I'm at it.

Progress is being made toward an offering of parts and kits through the
DIYAudio store.

Little adjustments are still being made as a result of listening tests.

All this will take time, at least 60 days by my estimate.

Thanks Nelson

How do those new horns sound? :spin:

Acroman has the 2sj28.

Thanks Dennis, I am finding these device names and sources confusing, I think its old age:)

I wonder if two single jfet amps in biamp is a good way forward to get around matching. My preference wold be to build Nelsons original amp.

@ Luke
If this is your preference you need 2 pairs B grade LS jfets 8 mA Idss
for front end of this original Push - pull Part 2 amp see on schematic.
Jfets are out of stock today but they be back just hang around every day for
Attention little more advanced level project if compare with Vfet Part 1 CSX
or others diy Mr Pass amp's designs.

Matched JFET pairs (Grade B) - Parts

Kind regards
