I remember in school science class a demo of static electricity that used a piece cat fur and a plastic rod to generate static.
Very effective. Seems like it's still in use today.

Static electricity is fun and involves very high voltages, luckily no currents to mention.
Look at this silver mica I have, its 25kv and a quarter uf, it weighs in at just under 5 kilos.
I like theese big old special parts , especially glass capacitors.

Not so sure about the fun part, but plenty of experience with the high voltage.
I use a static meter at work and have measured over 50 kV many times. It only takes 10-15 kV to make trouble with product handling and about 20 kV for people to feel it. It can be tough to eliminate, especially when the humidity is low.
At first I thought I would be fun, me and my cousin unpacking an entire shipping container filled from bottom to floor with moving boxes containing audio gear and components, we checked the first 50 full moving boxes of tubes and components only it's a ******* nightmare.
