A Continental Super Sonic weighs something like 200g, a ##### to get on the rim though. Marathon plus tyres are a bit heavier and slower. You would need a lot of those, a car tire weighs about 5-10 kilos.
I am being pedantic...
Yeah, those look more like they belong on the 18th green of a Siberian golf course in January than a paved road.
Like these?
In the early 80s I saw lots of people that looked like that at the Hollywood and OC punk clubs.
That's a STEAMDRIVEN THING. The "vehicle" is called spark (kick) and is normally used for travelling on ice or densely packed snow by kicking it:

Here's a video showing more in detail how the steam-spark works:

Looks like he got close!Just wonder if Colin Furze ever have tried to make a pulsejet spark??
A retired bicycle repair guy who used to fix my bikes had mounted a small motor on his own bike and went for a drive. However that was completely breaking several laws as the vehicle must have special brakes, be registered, have this and that installed and the driver must wear a helmet.
When he came driving on the bike line in some 30 mph, he spotted a police with radar som 50 yards ahead of him and switched of the motor and started pedalling, swishing past the policeman who looked very hesitative and suspicious.
It was a sort of this arrangement he had made (a random photo of a random bike with extra power source):

Is the bicycle repair guy related to the late Soichiro Honda?
Out here in SoCal... we see lots of "electric" bikes. They look quite like the one in the picture, but with an electric motor and a battery on the crossbar. They do not require any special registration yet. Is this the same case in Sweden?
In California, we have ICE scooters (under 20 mph) and ICE mopeds (under 30 mph) Scooters require a normal driver's license, but mopeds require a motorcycle driver's license. In general, the speed and displacement ( under 150cc ) seem to the be difference between a moped and a motorcycle.
Electric scooters and mopeds are considered electric bicycles ( under 750 watts ) and not yet regulated... give them time.

There are just some rules like it has to be registered as a moped if it runs on the electric motor w/o pedalling and then you need a helmet (or you say hardhat?). An e-bike use the motor as a backup when going uphill, heavy headwind or whatever. I don't know the maximum wattage, but I guess that's important. Is this the same case in Sweden?
Being the angry white male I am, I cannot really understand how e-scooters and electric fatbikes etc are allowed just like that. The number of broken ankles and crushed knees are increasing and these "toys" are everywhere. Now they are banned from sidewalks, but sidewalks are used for all kind of ****. Well not really railbound and ocean liners ....
