Something to lighten the mood

I liked the Laundry instructions. Very useful.

bucks bunny, you could have mentioned your video is 57 minutes long. I noticed it started with the Dying Swan music, which made me feel sad, but am busy studying the Horse Racing form.

Racing Post said:
The prospect of a three-week spell in quarantine in a Hong Kong hotel room will not discourage William Muir from taking Coronation Cup winner Pyledriver on an audacious trip to the Far East, as the trainer claims his belief in the four-year-old has never been greater.

Owned by the La Pyle Partnership, Pyledriver was a high-class three-year-old last season and registered his first Group 1 victory in Epsom's Coronation Cup in June.

A groin injury prevented him from running since, but he is due to reappear in the Grosser Preis von Bayern at Munich on Sunday week before a daring trip to Sha Tin for the Longines Hong Kong Vase, which is worth nearly £1.9 million – a prize Muir is ready to aim for despite the challenges presented by Covid-19 restrictions.

I am dreaming of a nice little earner here. 😎

Yes a good horse up against weaker opposition is often a plan! I didn't get a single Classic winner this year. I am pretty sure I was on Il Paradiso last year at Melbourne. Came a disappointing 4th. Oh well.

Ah, what the hell, if you can't beat them...

4 foot fluorescent lamp <snip>
The equivalent LED lamps
Thank you but I have neither. After removing the fluorescents, I now have fixtures similar in shape to a 2X4 fluorescent but they are intended for contractor use in wet weather conditions. The LED panel inside that sealed unit is 3600 Lumen.

Today, I purchased some white translucent lenses for the box-out. Works like a charm. No more sunburn. The old clear ones didn't cut it.

Galu, thank you for the funnies.
True story related to one of yours.
My Ex-Sister-in-law (oh how good it feels to say that) was not the brightest candle in the drawer. One day in her late youth she discovered a chance for employment at the local diner. Owner says okay, tomorrow you work 10 - 2. You guessed it, she showed up at 1:50.
Oh how we laughed. Poor thing. I wonder if she ever found that turn signal oil we sent her out for one Saturday afternoon.

Well, you've heard of The Stands, haven't you? It's where you stand at The Races. What's hard about that? 😕

A MAN who is TIRED of HORSES is TIRED of LIFE, IMO. 😀

Mum's paper was the Daily Mail. Much more interesting than Dad's boring Telegraph. I think I joined the "Big Chief Hiawatha's I-Spy Club" or something. There was a special corner of the paper for I-Spy members, with interesting facts and puzzles. Surreptitiously followed Mail horse tipster Robin Goodfellow who's Naps were apparently sure-fire winners. Felt sure this was a good talent to develop for adult life.

My intense study came in big time for me and Dad at Epsom Racetrack in 1969. The Saturday Oaks.

Sleeping Partner (12-1) Napped by R.G :

In the 191st running of the Oaks Stakes over one and a half miles at Epsom Racecourse on 7 June the filly was partnered by the South African-born jockey John Gorton and started at odds of 17/1 in a fifteen-runner field. The leading contenders appeared to be Full Dress and Wenduyne, the winners of the 1000 Guineas and the Irish 1000 Guineas respectively.

After being restrained towards the rear in the early stages she produced a sustained run on the outside in the last quarter-mile, overtook the front-running Frontier Goddess inside the final 100 yards and won by three-quarters of a length with Myastrid four lengths back in third place.

Very sad epitaph to the story, because I just checked:

At the end of her racing career Sleeping Partner was retired to become a broodmare at her owner's stud but proved to be barren and produced no known foals.

Aw... 🙁

I wonder if I am still a member of the I-Spy Club? 🙂

Why is it that after you explain something like this, I still have no idea what a long stand is?

Way to lighten the mood Steve.
One request. Quit horsing around in this thread. Get back to being the funny guy we all know and love.
