In some parts of Sweden, we have something called "björkdragning" (birch pulling) to celebrate a wedding. A birch is cut down and a figures are cut from this tree and set up at the house of the male or the female and of course these figures have to accentuate fertility.

One would expect “inflammable” to be the opposite of “flammable” but it doesn’t!!!

Flammable means it can be set on fire. Inflammable means it can spontaneously combust. So “inflammable” is actually more dangerous!

Of course we Americans got this language from some other folks. So one might expect them to get this right! 😉

A man went fishing after work on Friday and stayed out all weekend with the boys. Sunday night he was met by a very angry wife who said, how would you like it if you didn't see me for three days. He said, that would be OK with me. Monday goes by, Tuesday and Wednesday he didn't see his wife. By Thursday the swelling had gone down enough for him to see her out of the corner of his eye.
