Slewmaster - CFA vs. VFA "Rumble"

Thank you , bro !😎

(below) I tried 🙁🙄

Not to whine , but I pay my bills. 110$/mo. Same in albany 60$ .... download
would fail there , too - DSL. Cable at 3am , this PC rocks (30mbs) - not available 🙁 - even the cable would bomb out at 5pm to dsl speeds.
This is a common US thing. It's shameful what my EU counterparts have for standard IPS quality. One more lost hour (before failure).
Dang , I really wanted to try it !

Most internet isn't great here in Canada either. My brother lives a couple miles away on a main road and can only get dial up. I'm fortunate to be in between the main hub and a large city on my cable feed so my connection doesn't choke. I have friends it the city who's speed isn't close to mine. My work has it's own T1 fiber connection so speed is excellent there too.

Just strange that the trace runs close to the pad but does not terminate there.
What is known as a same net violation.
And the trace/net ( R110, R122, Q106) violation against the mounting hole(1.25,8) diameter 0.236"

Sprint is the MS Paint of the circuit board world. The nets don't need to terminate to a pad to keep it happy. You can just plop a pad onto a trace and it's connected. This confuses other software but works fine at the board houses. The DRC tool is a lot more casual by default too. You can drill a hole into a trace without it complaining.

Pete,
I don't know what I will do with it but I am downloading the Diptrace freeware on my DSL link. It is actually coming in fairly fast at 317kb and started saying it would take 5 minutes. I imagine I can put it on a disk and send it to you if you want to get a copy. Let me know, I'll know in a couple minutes if the download completes. That is better speed than I get with Google mail for sure.

Got it complete.

Do you want the 32bit or 64bit?

There's a 3d model pack add on that is need with the software.

Do I get the 3d pack on the same page? I found it and am downloading the full 3d library and models. Coming in nice and fast. It says underneath this that it is included in the first download, already integrated into the download, I'll just let it finish anyway.

Both. I have a small shop PC and my big quad core HT PC. Luckily , very few
PC hardware/software issues.

Wish I could build my own ISP 😀 .

He lives in a bit of a valley. There's no wireless options available. There's a few wireless repeater providers in the area but their signal doesn't reach there either. He could get a satellite package but the phone lines are so bad he would have issues sending.

I have the satellite option , but they want credit to sign up. That's how they do it -.
send a request or dns with a phone line , then return bulk through the satellite ?
No phone service here, either. Just a lonely cell tower  .
Hmmm , is N. America just too big for good infrastructure ?

There's a few guys around here that rent a T1 line and put up repeaters all over the place. Short range small stuff that isn't an eyesore. It works fairly well but needs line of sight. The network needs to start from somewhere with good service obviously, then they just keep adding more repeaters and expanding their networks as the customer base grows. I don't think the cost is huge for the equipment.

Yes satellite sends request over the phone line. I was talking to the phone tech when we upgraded our phone system last time at work. Our server room was the third nastiest server room he had ever been in. It took me two years to make it into something that didn't scare people. He also mentioned the worst roadside patch box in the area. Erb street north of Baden. That's where my brother lives. The phone lines went in back in the 1950s.

Does anyone offer high speed wireless in you area? It might be a lucrative business venture.

The monopolies do at a premium metered rate. The one I have is unlimited 2G
(edge 1-2mb/s).
Cable is comcast redneck 20mb/s ( really 5-30 , depending on day).
As I said , high speed in NYS's capital .. Albany was mediocre at best , too.
Time warner High speed was either 5 or 10mbs - all for 150$/mo.

110$/mo + 300$ equipment = (below) 🙁

I was just thinking same -- you can buy your way to higher speed with Comcast. basic service is around 1mb/s. I pay Comcast a little more for a 50mb/s line as I do a lot of real time video HD and HD-3D streaming. Less than you pay. I bought my own high speed modem to handle it. also no cable modem charges to rent their's so it pays for itself. Also, had to get an HDMI cable box which is extremely rare but you can ask the tech department to get one for you. I got the only one they had at the time. Their marketing doesnt know about it's existance.

I had Comcast , actually - the best I ever had. About 3 miles from here. 30mb/s , late night 35+ ...
only dropped to 20mb - worst case.
That was a package deal , you can't JUST buy internet off of US cable companies.
Starts as a 99$ a month "deal". As usual ,they don't tell you about taxes (117$).
then they try to scam you into buying more programming. If you don't loudly say "NO" ,
you will see extra programming charges.
I ended up with >160$/mo bills
6 months into the contract. 😱
Comcast will also prioritize streaming traffic ....
making you think you need 50mb/s or more. (30mb should do 3 HDMI streams at the same time).
Uncompressed you would need a fiber optic gig connection / H264
is about 8mb/s -1080p.

In essence , most ISP's are thieves and have that same morally reprehensible business model.
AND , they do .... because we allow it !
Not the "mom and pop" trust oriented hardware store business style ,
but the "stick it to Joe six-pack cause he don't know or care " new - century model.

PS - I PAY the bills . So I just tell the truth (chronological timeline of deception-s).
I've had to scream "NO" and hotly pursue new un-needed or not wanted extra
charges. :RIP:

6 months into the contract. 😱
After my French paradisiac Internet, I started in Portugal with a company named Cabovision. They asked for 24 months of engagement. Pretended that it was 30Mb/s for 25 €/month.
In fact, they added 18€ for phone service that you cannot avoid -> 43 €. Then, each phone call of five seconds cost-you an arm. My first bill was > 100€ with, may-be, 15 phone calls.
After some days, i contacted them because my download speed was varying between < 1Mb and 5. They said they were not able to fix the problem in my area, but refused to break the contract. They asked-me for 800 € of fees to stop the service.
I had to threaten them with lawsuits near the European Court of Justice to breach of contract, photos of online speed tests proving that they do not provided the promised services.
Thieves, as you said. And a pity, as Portugal is a very poor country.
