All hooked up, had to turn voltage just under 29 volts to get 3.8-4.0 reading. Both sides fine.
Too late to listen, if I need to chase a hum or something I will be up all night "fixing" it.

Ready to set my switches, power up and give it a spin. On the switches, they appear to be positioned as they came set to "on." At least they are pushed up, and on that side either the word ON, or else upside down is NO! Can't imagine that's the case so am I correct in pushing them down (away from ON) to turn OFF?
Can you tell I am super paranoid? LOL.

Hi Salas or Anyone,
I am about to finish my set soon, last to populate are Q4, Q5 and Q6.
May I know what is the idea IDSS for the above Jfets?
Thanks

With switches set, had to turn voltage back up to 31 volts, as it should be! Phone board steady at 3.98.
Still hooked up to Variac, will undo that and reset when straight wall voltage applied.
Now to finish up DC3G preamp. It's almost done but tapping the heatsink and final wiring.

Will post this evening, regular photos, and "topless" ones as well.Your UFSP photo?

Transformer on my look can pass 10mA AC signal or 3 to 4mA DC signal. If that transformer can deal with line level signal, yes after the UFSP is better to locate. Another way of summing stereo to mono is with resistors of course.

Nice, let us know if it initially feels sounding right in the system as well. With few words about the vinyl rig etc. Will post this evening, regular photos, and "topless" ones as well.

Seems strong enough for line level useTransformer on my look can pass 10mA AC signal or 3 to 4mA DC signal.
Rig is an AR The Turntable, but all that's left is the wood and top plate of the original. The rest, replaced with Merrill mods, springs, subchassis, spindle, platter, inner platter all delron. Weight, perimeter weight, etc.Nice, let us know if it initially feels sounding right in the system as well. With few words about the vinyl rig etc.
Arm is a Magnepan Unitrac, cart is SAE lt 1000.
I have only listened to one side of Jah Wobble Invaders of the Heart, so not a lot to judge. Bass seemed strong, top seemed a touch subdued. Not as a criticism, but leaning a bit to hi Fi sound. Before the end of that side it was improving
Need to recheck voltages, and let it run in. I haven't played with loading caps, want it to run in and stabilize first

A few pics. Smaller box is power supply. In fact, it's sitting on top of my Pass diy Pearl 2 power supply.

Any suggestions on the tweaking, not sure what you mean by geometrical? I played the other 3 sides of "The Usual Suspects" and it continues to improve. This album has some fairly strong bass in it, "Get Cater" was particularly demonstrative of this units abilities.Take your time. It may also ask for little loading and geometrical tweaking.
Maybe VTA geometry, but try with a smaller value C2Y or without it at first. Because you mentioned a little subdued treble tonal balance initially. Rload for the SAE HMC is set at 47k and gain is 43dB, yes?
I set them as you advised, 47k, switches off, i believe it was 7 and 11 on, rest off. It seems to still be settling in, or I'm getting used to it, but I want it to settle down. My tonearm can set VTA on the fly, but not messing yet. Now high end is sounding hotter with Steve Winwoods "Live from the Canteen", not as heavy vinyl as the Jah Wobble album is, so probably shifted VTA a smidge. A bit more tail up could be in order.
As it warms, T measurments drop a little, setting them closer to 4.00 but, when turned off and later turned back on, they measure 4.16 or so until a few minutes pass, then settles back down. Is this temporary excursion over 4.0 harmless, or should I reduce initial voltage to prevent temporary overage? I figure its harmless but will ask in abundance of caution.
