I see.
Bride of Zen, BOZ, uses regulated voltage.
Makes me like that preamplifier with one single mosfet even more!
Hi Mads!
I would like to ask you to redesign your BOZ and SEWA PCB for 2SK mosfets pins. (GSD) Should I?
In your BOZ the Q101 and Q201 and in your SEWA only the Q1.
I know it is an easy modification, but I donn't want to draw into your very nice and elegant PCB artwork!
Lineup has a good idea to try in the SEWA the 2SK1058. What do you think?
If it is possible, I would like also to ask you to modify the circuit to use the 2SK1058's different Vgs(max 1.4V) Should I?

Is there a Boom for BOZ preamp?
Can I use 2SK216 even in the powersupply?
Can I use 2SK216 even in the powersupply?
Yes I did,It was maybee a litlle to hot at 2,75A..to hot to touch.Yes, bring it on (the current)
Ok,is it a waste to use 2SK216 as Q101 and Q201 to?It is just waste of money!
Hi Ryssen!
I already wrote to my "tuning" BOZ first listening impressions. Look at in post 660.
In this weekend we will make a serious listening test between BOZ-Tuning BOZ-BOSOZ-Remus tubepre-and some more tubepre amps. I will post the results!

The sound is very serious, warm and wooooly, but also very-very detailed!! I can "eat" the sounds or I could say the sound has full body and form. It has very much power and can drive the SEWA better than the BOZ! The vocals are awesome good!
I can only recomend to build Mads BOZ with 2SK216!!!!

Hi Mads!
I am happy that you are still here!
When you will have a bit more time would it be possible to ask you to redesign your BOZ and SEWA PCB for 2SK mosfets pins. (GSD)???

BOZ test
Hi!
Yesterday we did the listening test with the BOZ, Tuning BOZ and BOSOZ! We used the ZV9 and SEWA, both are realy amplifires!
The Tuning BOZ was 100% winner!!!!!
The bigest difference was between BOZ and Tuning BOZ, but it also easily outpreformed the BOSOZ!
Much more power, control, dynamic, detail, image and warm, silky sound!
I can only suggest to everybody to try!

P.S.:
I got my 127mH chokes for the Choke Loaded OTA!!!!!
I hope I could soon report you about it!
BTW: How can I measure the very correct resistance of my chokes??? My multimeter is not perfect under 1 Ohm and the choke has ca. 0.54-0.7 Ohm R.

I use Mads wonderfull designed BOZ PCB.
Techs infos:
- 62Vdc RegV
- 3.46Vdc on Source
- 25Vdc on Drain
- 4.43 on Gate
Parts are non esoterics.
2x30V 50VA toroid
IRF630 in the PSU
2SK216 for Q101 and Q201!
1uF/100V Siemens Mica input cap
10uF/100V ERO MKT output cap
Yageo 1% 0.5W metalfim resistors
I donn't use pots because my Yamaha CDX993 has an output pot, but later I will try a good 10K pot on the output.

Hi Tyimo
Thanks for share ( also MadK ) your experiments with BOZ pre.
I got new pcb from Bas Audio to replace my old original pcb and components (caps, psu diodes, etc) and I´m sure thats a good chance to try upgrade to the TBOZ, why not
Are you repacing TIP29C in PSU to IRF630?
What Q101/Q201 bias current (V across R108) are you setting for?
Any mod on zenners stack?
Also I´m using 2x30 160 VA Avell trafo and Alps Black Beauty 10K in output. Coupling caps will be 1.0 and 4.7u Black Gate N.
In advance thanks form comments and assistance

BOZ Bride Of Zen 2SK216 IRF610 Aren van Waarde
I found a BOZ project on web, that used 30 Volt at Drain.
And this was found to give better performance (symmetrical clipping).
The original, for only use of BOZ as normal preamp, with only low Volt RMS output (1-2 Vrms)
used 20 Volt at drain.
For SEWA, BOZ is used as a voltage amplifier.
The output can be maybe as high as 8-10 Volt RMS max.
Mad_K. suggested 25 Volt DC at Drain (=output) for this.
It might for some, be an improvement to use even 30 Volt DC.
It depends a bit of how high max output your SEWA would use.
Regardless if using IRF610 or 2SK216
I think 30 Volt at FET Drain could be better, at least in combination with SEWA.

Hi JC!
Yes, but don't forget I am using Mads PCB and PSU!!!
3.46Vdc on Source/ R108-100R= 34.6mA
Nothing, 7x9.1V Zeners.
The 4.7uF is not enough! You have to use 10uF!

Power DAC for SEWA Dreams
Hi Mads and Lineup!
Would it be possible to design a Power DAC for the SEWA?????
I mean a non oversampling DAC that has enough power to direct drive the SEWA. No preamp just a buffered (maybe tube....) DAC with 11V RMS output and the SEWA! That would be
