Ben thinking about Hypex' 3 way amp, but had no idea how HFD worked.
I was wondering that if you just wanted to do a 3 way crossover, would it be enough to drop some low - and high pass filters?
...and then let DIRAC do the flatline response?
Best Regards
Brian

Hi, searching the net for answers, trying to get my UMC22 & ECM8000 working with REW & then HFD.
Does all the sound have to run through the soundcard, mine doesn't have XLR out, only L&R 1/4" jack connections, guessing these need to run into the Fusion?
Guessing I need to buy some cables, so 1/4" to XLR or phono?

Are there any guides for how you measure direct in HFD?
I can see an import button, but this seems to load a DAT file. Just tried to save a file from REW and its saving as MDAT and not visible from HFD.

You can edit REW measurements as txt and save as DAT then you can load into HFD. I tried and it worked for me. If I remember correctly, something in the beginning of the text must be deleted from the REW measurement.

RTFM!
He's suggesting all the information needed is available in the manual, which it is. If you do a search on diyaudio you will find some recommendations on the best soundcards to use for making measurements. After a false start I bought the Behringer and it works very well.
Just worked out the acronym...*♂️
From what he had mentioned before I thought you could do the measurements within HFD, and bypass REW or other measurement software. But yes, the manual is pretty clear you just import the files.

So yes, I scanned through the whole manual, the first bit of "import speaker measurements" through me of the scent at first.
But near the end it does give instructions under Recording of how to record from within HFD.
I can't seem to get my behringher mic and pre-amp to work with REW or Fuzzmeasure, despite showing it seeing a signal on my mac. Maybe I can try with HFD later.

if you want to use your existing preamp or AVR receiver, I assume volume works from the preamp and you just set a constant volume value on both plate amps? Like -10 lets say and its like the last gain stage of a power amp? Right?
All control from the AVR/PRE.

I'm wondering what the channel invert option actually does. I thought it would reverse the polarity to the speaker but working on some filters I get the impression it doesn't.
Are you using the latest soft and firmware? At the introduction there was a bug, when you didn't had any filter in the channel the inverse function did not work.
Yes, I have the latest version. So it does change polarity but it also inverts the filters, is that correct?
Ok, thanks. I do indeed see the effect on the sum graph and was not expecting this, but it makes sense.
