Check the leds, without desoldering them, with a battery in order to check the orientation and that are working properly first.
Oops indeed! No Rf means no continuity from the diodes bridge to the reservoir capacitor. Open circuit. Use a wire jumper at least for now if without Rf during the weekend.
Power supply working
Got 2 0.22ohms resistors for rf and everything is working fine. Adjusted voltages without load and after connection to load. Will check them later. It looks like soundstage is larger and more air, so far. Only 10 minutes playing!

I made a mistake when I ordered the bipolar Nichicons for my build and received 25V ones for C3. As I am setting to +- 17V for my DCG3 will these be ok or do I need to reorder.
I don't know for sure because I haven't tested the 33uF 25V one. But given the fact that in 33uF 50V it has only 0.12Ω 100kHz ESR I wouldn't expect it in 25V to measure ESR beyond the recommended range although it should be higher than in the 50V. The 47uF 35V ES has 0.13Ω ESR for example.
P.S. I have read that the longer lead in the Nichicon ES bipolar is the outer foil for anyone interested. So you may prefer to solder the longer lead to the ground plane pad. For C3 that's the figure of eight double pitch pad. For C2 the single pad.

Hi,
I have a number of LSK389C, SOIC, Ultra Low Noise jfets which I originally bought to rebuild the pcb for my Hagerman Piccolo . Might they also be used advantageously in the Ultrabib Salas build or best stick to those in the mini kits ?

is an aluminum heatsink 9.45''x3''x0.87'' enough to hook up both positive and negative side to it? it will not be in a metal box it will be mounted on a piece of wood
15 VAC in and 12 VDC out. the current requyirement of the soekris dac is modest. ~150mA i think.
It will suffice. For the Soekris use 2.2R in the positive and 3.9R in the negative for R1 1W or 2W CC setting resistors.
thanks for the advice and darn i just ordered 1 and 2 ohm 2 days ago. i guess im paying another 7.99 for shipping to get 2.2 and 3.9R 🙁
Those 1R & 2R you ordered are wrong. At least you asked while still in time. They would have produced much shunt current for that DAC as load and excessive heat. Not to mention limiting the stability. Setting for Soekris has been discussed before in this thread (post#129).
yes thanks. i was not aware that the current requirements for the positive ans negative sides are different so i chose 2 watt 2 ohm for both sides and i got the 1 ohm for future uses. but like you said, it is two small resistance for the negative side apparently.
