Dan.
Someone earlier has opened one. The picture of it look like a cheap low pressure moulded automotive part, lower down the page.

Wow, so many words to say 'low pass filter'. I never knew how dirty my magnetics were.
1 and 2 seem to be suggesting that the REV33 is acting like a current source, which of course if you're using only passive components would simply be a resistor to approximate a high source impedance. But that would result in a good amount of attenuation which would lower the volume of the earbud or headphone, not to mention affect its frequency response, especially in IEMs with multiple drivers and crossovers.

I don't see an opened photo? Dreadful site though - full of pop ups. Basically it seems to be just an ad for rev33, full of the same contradictory claims ... The slide in case for it looks pretty cheap and nasty!

Huh? I don't see any photos of an opened one. That page is just parroting REV33's marketing literature.

I think it may actually be a somewhat lossy low pass filter. At the very least it appears (from their description) to add some resistance in series with the transducer.billshurv said:Wow, so many words to say 'low pass filter'.
and not very scientific as well!
How's that, we are testing a hypothesis that this device does nothing? Of course we might be up against, " the potting material contains traces of rare earth oxides and some carbon nanotubes and these operate together by an unknown phenomena that can't be measured by any known instruments". We'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
Scott, you didn't specify an amount. Were you going to do $50 same as Jan? Gpauk I think assumed that when he offered up to complete this with $19.
So here's what I have so far unless Scott intended something different.
Jan Didden: $50
Scott Wurcer: $50
Billshurv: $20
Gpauk: $19
Everyone ok with that?

Yes, I was off grid this weekend.
Let us not confuse the REV33 with a Bybee device.

Shouldn't you be hyping your business partner's scams in your own thread?

Hey! Get back to Blowtorch!

He said he would stay out of this thread if I stayed out of the Blowtorch thread. I've kept my end of the bargain.

Thanks, Scott!
Still waiting to hear back from Tyll so I'll know which REV33 flavor to get. I'll send him a reminder layer today if I don't hear from him before.

Unfortunately, if this thread cannot stay on track with the REV33, and wanders toward Bybee devices, then the spirit of the agreement between SE and me is broken.
You have your own thread. Don't derail this one with promoting your business partner's fraud.
