Here are three of my very old Maplin amps around 1980.
Left is 225WRMS Maplin disco amplifier.
Then is 50 watt Maplin hifi amp.
Bottom right is 75 watt Maplin lateral mosfet amp.
All still work.
I still have a 1980 Fane 12-50WRMS driver in a W bin.

nigelwright7557: Nostalgie 🙂
I found today and turned on my very first amp on a universal PCB 🙂
Just for joy. Chilled with a piece of iron 😀
3 pairs MJW21195/6 and 300W/4R.
Clumsy tiny, who inspires me to do something even smaller, but better 🙂

I could have said 625W. I have included the dot. Lol.In fact, I intended to say that I didn't understand this figure.
Just reconfigured my listening room and got both sets of speakers up and running and the SME 3009 all tuned up with new interconnects. I still have some work on cable dressing etc, but hopefully no more moving it around. I'll be using separate power amps for the speakers and then driving them off the same pre so I can switch between them externally. I use the 703's with the kx-Amp and a big 240 watt amp with the KEF's (they not as efficient as the 703's -about 3 dB difference - quite marked).
I've come to realize with the 703's that you cannot listen to them in the near field which is what I was doing in my previous space - the treble is really too bright. Back off a bit from them they sound much, much better but not as neutral as the KEF's. I'm using a B&W sub woofer with the KEF's to augment below 80 Hz where the response drops off very quickly.
I'm using Atacama stands for the KEF's and they have been filled with small stones so weight about 20 kg each (speakers are about 12 kG IIRC). BTW, the marble plinth that the Michel deck is sitting on weighs 45kg. When I kick the bucket, my kids can get it engraved with 'Here lies a hi-fi nut'
🙂

I like. Nice and clean looking.

Nice multi-purpose setup, Andrew.
KEFs unambiguously remind about а mandatory component of every proper listening session.
I mean, a glass of good red wine

Nice, looks great. Some kind of class A amplifier?
Hi,
just waiting for Elna Tonerex filtering capacitors and Permalloy transformers...
I will send pics ASAP

Is anything grounded to that painted chassis?
It's pretty, but doesn't appear to follow standard electrical design procedure.
