Hi Mooly, It depends how big is the peak current you need to forward. In my amp it is 28A so six pairs of output devices. The limiter treshhold is setup arround 33A. The inrush current is hudge, but thanks to a very gut toro specially designed for audio, and a soft start cirquitry the inrush is not blowing an T4Amp fuse fo industrial type 38x10.3mm. The softstart limiting resistor is 10 Ohm 40W shorted arround 500ms after switched on. Regards.
Thought so, 😉 I had visions of the lights going out. Very impressive piece of kit, well done.

At last I got the chance to take a pic of the inside of my little "test rig", as I have decided to make yet an update....
And I know.... I have to do something about the wiring 🙄
Started out as a simple stereo buffer, but more end more circuits where added over time 😀
Now it contains two mono buffer circuits and two mono analog input selector switches, all with their own regulated supply
So obvious the toroid had to leave the chassis, and are now placed in it's own small chassis.
When do I learn to start with a larger chassis? I always end up with a crowded chassis

Looking good, what are they all, I think there's a headphone amp in there, and a stepped attenuator ?.
ok,clockwise from 1 o'clock:
1,EFHA version 2,it is a emitter follower headphone amp.
2,LM1036 based tone controled preamp.
3,EFHA version 1.
4,opa2227 based preamp, shunt typed volume after the opamp.
5,bridge module,shunt typed volume,it is a preamp.
6,sweet YAHA headamp

Sounds awfully good ... driven by a Squeeze Box 3 connected to office internet driving two Magnapan.com MMG planar speakers plus (hidden) bass sub woofer. (Additional pics at: http://3dotaudio.com/ampics.html )

Mihai,
Beautifully made, the work of an artisan. When you add up the expertise in the design as well, much credit goes to you.
Cheers,
Hugh
