What a great topic, chaotic, not sure why you need all those subs, but a real love for the peerless!
You also have a 15" dayton ultra, how do you compare it to a xls 12 combined with a passive radiator? Also the size of thebox, as the dayton needs a pretty big box. If you had 1 100 liter box, would you put 2 12" xls woofers, with a pr, or 1 bigger woofer like 15 or even 18"?
Not easy also to find all those drivers, they are becoming rare

Thanks, yes it is a bit chaotic, lol. What a great topic, chaotic, not sure why you need all those subs, but a real love for the peerless!

My Um15 in big reflex enclosure moves a lot of air and superfun for movie setup cause it vibrate my backwall of my sofa much so i have that earthquake feeling. I cant compare any of my other subs yet, cause i need to build some first.. About the xls 12" i will build a enclosure with 2 PR's , but not sure what size yet. i will try to keep it 50L or more.
-----------------
Anyway i got some bracings installed on the 18" enclosure. it messsure 124,7L liters without bracings and driver.

Ok, thanks, looking forward to some impressions! Indeed, 'moving air' is important, but off course, there is a limit on the number of db you can play in your room without going deaf.
the question i ask is a bit similar to asking if a tesla S is as fun as a bugatti veyron if the roads are limited to 120 km/hr (the bugatti being a 15/18 inch, the tesla being the peerless xls 12 + pr, as both go to 20Hz, but the bigger woofers with more db, but do you need them?)

Model S Plaid is quicker than the Bugatti from 0 to 150mph.
Bugatti is faster than the Model S Plaid, 150mph and beyond.
How often would you do 150mph???
I've often read that driving a slow car fast is funner than driving a fast car slow.

It is the Dayton audio RSS460HO-4. I had it lying as new maybe 2 years. i had the 8" inch version before and i like the warm sound in them. the 18" is very nice. need to test it more before i talk to much[emoji28] I feel the enclosure volume is pretty perfect but need to take some meassurements with the Umik-1 also.Which driver is that?
I wan't to try it one day in this enclosure,These look nice! The 460 would be very good ported too
This is my old Fi Q 18" (regret i sold it)
This is the enclosure i use now for my 15" Ultimax with an extra frontbaffle. it was designed to fit in one of my cars, but work pretty good as a 3rd subwoofer for my hometheater setup on my backroom/bedroom that are wall in wall with my livingroom with an open door. this makes the deepest fz comes from behind and shake stuff pretty good. lol.

Hello, i collect a bit Peerless xls drivers.. no Thymphany copies..
Building soon 2x "Thor" Boxes for my 830500 drivers.. they are actually new oldstock aswell.. another project i also will try is "sonosub" but with passive radiator from Scan-speak,. so 4 cabinets total.. just to try out what suits me best.. the subwoofer will be used for music, and movies.
Have also an old 1x 830452 10" with fiber dustcap and a 12 " peerless (425g) passive radiator that i will use in a passive box build im making right now..
The last one i have is a xls10 from a Gallo acoustic subwoofer.. it is playing lovely in a closed box on my stereo room at the moment.. just need to make a finish on the box.

You have some cool gear over there. I like Peerless, And Gallo. And the Peerless reference subs, in sealed cabs. Is exactly what I'm setting out to do.
To keep stereo expansion from expanding too far in to my room 😀
1 small sealed cabinet, 1 Crown XLS1500 2 channel amp bridged mode, 1 Peerless sub might expand in to 2. The amp has enough juice.
Looking to tap in to more bass than my great sounding Dynaudio can keep up with. I like my HipHop music too. I rather not punish my Evokes. The peerless are the ticket imo.
