Open source Waveguides for CNC & 3D printing!

They both look great to me
Exactly. And I like the nice and even response of the off-axis curves too. I hope that Purifi makes a 5" alu midrange - that would be nice.
After I started using your Waveguide on a SB26ADC - finding how good a rather cheap driver can perform, when used well. Then I just wondered which midranges could be the best to match the great performance of the smooth curves of the waveguide.
The little Textreme has its breakup much higher than the Purifi. With a passive network, it should be possible to suppress it, though. But when I have an active setup, it feels almost wrong to start fiddling with passive components too.

Maybe it will work on tweeters too?

Sometimes it's just the thought about something that is maybe better. Like maybe the Textreme tweeter could have one of your waveguides, rather than the small one it is born with. But would it really be better? Maybe only the BE tweeters are better, because they load the waveguide better, with the flatter dome structure.

Is there something specific in a tweeter that you go for, when designing a waveguide?

Yeah, I hope it will work on my waveguide!

Seriously though, it is tough to guess how a tweeter will interact with a waveguide. Flatter domes do help, and smaller surrounds. But there are always exceptions. I'd love to see how the SB Textreme or Be tweeters look on the waveguides I made for the fabric Satori. I'm currently developing a speaker using the MW16TX and T25B, but I want to make sure I'm making the right choice by taking a look at some other high-end candidates. Both of the SB domes look pretty flat and might load well. If anyone wants to loan me one, that would be a great help.

Really wondered about this - like where should the extra quality come from?.
The MW13TX and the new Purifi Midrange - within 400 to around 2500Hz, where normal midranges normally work best.... they are actually very alike when it comes to distortion.... or am I missing something?

IMO the Purifi has a better motor and likely a more natural spread of harmonics (proportions from lower to higher order HD) in its pass band than the Satori. Most smaller cone mids don't do that well down into the lower mids. I've heard different versions of the MW13 and wasn't all that impressed when comparing to others in that price range.

Snicker if you like, but the Peerless NE149W is still one of the best 5" mids I've ever used at almost any price. It just sounds very clean and neutral, even crossed lower than usual. Very sad its almost impossible to buy now.

As I am too mke print a 10" wave guide foe a 1" CD, I also sent your stl file of the round 6.5" sb26 WG (as I am pretty too much a beginner to try the other shape) to mate with a 6" to 7" midrange for a try with the SB26ADC. The guy at JLPCB (I told them to convert x2.54 to have the centimeters) showed me a 7.5" diameter WG . Is it correct or should it be netto 6.5" width, please ? I will order in ABS !

Is the 7.5" diameter of the mouth correct, please ?

TXN in Jantzen WG does not look bad at all 😉
Measured in 2way cabinet, with 20mm facets.

total diameter with mounting flange is 7.28". There is also a 6" that is 6.78" wide that works well with 6-7" drivers.

ABS is alright if you don't have access to SLS nylon or MJF processes. I would print in those if you can.
Thanks, I am talking of the round one in 6.5"... seems the stl. shows 7.5" according JLPCB. They have not converted in cm yet. See the picture they sent.

Is that the good stl file, took it from your site in the 6.5 round WG SB26 section. Has anyone printed it at Diya, please and can help ?
