Is Dave out of the woods yet? Considering he's doing physiotherapy, I'm guessing yes... I hope so. I hope it's "just" a matter of recovering from here, even if recovery turns out to be a long and winding road.

Yes, numerous variables at play, with both an undeterminate rate and degree of recovery to arrive at the "new normal" - both physically and mentally
Will try to get up there sometime over the next couple of days.

Had a great conversation with Ruth today. We spent an hour going over things just relaxing, chatting, laughing and remembering what life is really all about.
Dave's pillar of strength seems to be coping well, considering.
He is continuing to recover, but again, it's not as quick as we all want but at least there is no bad news.
As Chris mentioned, and might I say very well, there are a number of issues in the future and there are no answers as yet. From talking with Ruth, this seems to be one of the more troubling parts as she doesn't know what, when or how this will unfold. For those of you who know Ruth, organization and a sense of order are her calling. She is the oil in the cogs. I was just glad to spend that kind of time with her today and by the time I hung up, my life was a little better. 😉

Cal,
Thank you for the update. Relieved and happy to know that Dave continues to recover, and pray that he keeps on making steady progress.

Rehab is a good sign, and I'm glad Dave is doing it. He's a special guy, and I'm super happy he's on the (slow) road to recovery.
Good to hear that Dave is on the road to recovery, steady progress is the key, one small step at a time.
Excerpt from the latest email:
So, Dave took some steps over this weekend. Walked with the big heavy-duty walker for the first time, the one that supports the body, for a few feet. Totally surprised himself.
Puts a smile on my face, I hope yours too.

Absolutely 😀
Excellent news !!
The totally surprised himself bit, is probably the best bit. That may be a turning point in the recovery, and hopefully things will start to get better faster! 🙂
Tony.
Tony.
From tonight's short visit. Those of you who know Dave will recognize the smile and glimmer in his eyes, but damn this is not a weight loss plan to be recommended .
