Hi Calhoun,
It's good to know Dave is on the mend. He has made it through the very touch and go phase. It's just pain from here on in.

Saw Dave briefly yesterday - his birthday - he's still very fatigued from the combination of surgery & side effects of treatment and 12 weeks of inactivity. A couple of the conversations have been very interesting, to say the least, and I don't even want to think about what's going on inside his head. Reading minds would be the greatest curse I can imagine for a sentient being.
Scott - could you check your email(s) please

Saw Dave briefly yesterday - his birthday -
I was thinking of Dave yesterday, but it's also my wife's birthday, and had to take her out for dinner etc.
I was up to see him a couple weeks ago, and I gotta say he's looking a bit too frail for my liking. He was asleep, so didn't get to talk.

great news speakerdork ...
to all:
wonderful news regarding Dave. Nothing but the best possible wishes for the best possible outcome ...
...on another note, I have been ignoring posts and emails, so if any have been sent in the last 2 weeks I apologize (my mom passed away Jan12).
Regardless, great news for Dave and Ruth.

Condolences to you and your family Stew. My mom passed away Jan 12, 1997.

Hey Chris, thank you for the update. Talking with Ruth is great but having your insight is that much more. Dave is lucky to have you.Saw Dave briefly yesterday
Hey Stewy (regular name not used tonight): We all know that day has to come but we're never really ready for it. We think they are going to be with us forever. I know that's how I felt. I hope you are coping well my friend.(my mom passed away Jan12).
Not a surprise though, right? He's been through a lot but he's on his way back. With the help of friends like you, Chris and others, along with those closest, especially Ruth, it's just a matter of time.I was up to see him a couple weeks ago, and I gotta say he's looking a bit too frail for my liking.

Thanks again for the update(s) everyone.
This is one thread I follow with great interest, and always hope to hear positive news.

Thanks for the update. Hope Dave will be up and about soon.
Stewy: Sorry to hear you mom passed away. Trust you will recover from the sorrow soon. Remember that in all scriptures globally they say , NO ONE is ever lost forever! If you care enough , everyone gets back together " on the other side". The loss is temporary ! Yes, the "universal plan" is very good !🙂

all:
I was just trying to explain for my lack of attendance in the forums (especially this thread), and thank you to all that have PM'd me and sent me direct email concerning my mom.
However, I posted in this thread regarding Dave's progress during his recovery. As long as his appetite is good and he can tolerate protein, he'll have the building blocks to recover to the best that he can. Obviously he will be challenged, but it is amazing what the human body can do if given half a chance (and a strong mind). Knowing Dave, I'm sure he is stubborn enough push himself as hard as need be.

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in again.
Stew, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. When my parents passed it certainly was a loss to me, so I think I can understand your loss somewhat.
I'm still pulling for Dave, and it sounds as if he's coming along. I'm certainly thankful for that.
Today was a decent day and my Wife and I worked outdoors in the yard for a few hours. Not much else going on around here.
If any of you visit Dave, please say Hi to him for me...
Best Regards,
TerryO

Not a lot to report. Ruth got back to me yesterday, and as mentioned Dave is in physio. He is working on standing without being dizzy as he is very tired. He is also dealing with a lot of congestion so his breathing is laboured.
All in all it sounds like there is progress but maybe not at quite the pace we all hope for.
