Thomas, I've sent 5 emails. I need your input on a Q about the transformer (see attached pdf). The v2 thread seems dead.

On the primary side, which are the + (hot) wires? The two reds or two browns?

For 120vac use in USA, should I combine the two reds and connect to hot and combine two browns and connect to neutral, with black to ground?

Dac ver.3 sounds very good. I am compairing it to an Eastsound CD-E5 which replaced a CD-PRO2M kit with an Audio Note Dac1.1x and that replaced a Proceed CDD with a Ultralink II. I have not replace any caps or installed my new S2 chip. Before I can do prolonged listening I will need to change the heatsink on U4.
I am using my Eastsound as a transport, but would like to use the CD rom controller that I purchased with the dac ver.3. The problem with the CD rom contoller is there is no info on how to connect it to the dac. J4 is populated with pins and J6 is not. Please offer some info ASAP. I want to hear the dac ver.3 with the cd rom I purchased.

I have sent you at least 8 emails to your hotmail address yet got none response from you at all! And you did not reply to my post here either. I really do not know what I can do for now.

My Ver.2's tube board has the hum problem, definitely a problem with the PCB itself. You promised to send me a replacement yet you never respond to my email. How about the nano pulse transformer free for me? 🙁 Not even mention the TCXO group buy I wanted to join in. Now am I too late for that?

BTW, can U told me the proble was cause by the DAC PCB or the tube buffer. If cause by the DAC board. i will send one set to U with the ver.3 PCB.

I reall not receive yor email. if I missing some of parts that forgot post to U. very sorry for that. I will do it immediately.

TCXO is the standard pats of the ver.2 dac, not need to group by. I must must must had responability pos U back. This is your right!!!!!!!!!

if the hum was cause by thetube buffer. I still eed some time because I will had one tube buffer which use 5687 tubes. had many ( over 2300pcs) 5687 ( NOS) on hand.
I can maintain a low price of this low output impendence tue buffer to diyers.

My wife and daughter both listened to the new fully assembled non modified dac ver.3 and could tell that it sounded better then my Eastsound CD-E5. This is, so far, the best deal in audio yet IMHO. I built a NOS tda1545 to go with my CD-PRO-2M transport and this dac sounds better. I can't wait till I can install all the upgraded caps, TDA1541AS2 chip and better cables. I am using cheap patch cables I cut for the output and a cheap audio patch cable for the 75 ohm digital in. This will be fun. TDA1541 dac where have you been all my life? I love this hobby! Hopfully soon I will have the upgrades and the cd rom controller working. I bought a black laptop (thin) cd rom. I plan to build a thin chassis cd player.

put into the junk mail bin by anti-spam software? Can you please send
me a private email with your current email address? I know for sure
your hotmail address does not work.

You already sent me a TCXO for the Ver.2 kit! No need for another one.
The purpose for me to join the TCXO group buy is mainly to get the
24.576MHz TCXO. I am working with several DVD Audio players these days
hence need a few of them.

The hum is from the tube buffer board. After doing some tracing , I believed
there's short somewhere in the ground loop. Probably the same problem
you found with the first batch of the Ver.2 buffer board? It will be great if
you can get me a new buffer PCB. Oh, and the free nano pulse transfomer, too!

BTW, I need the reclock circuit's schematics. I already figured out the schematics
myself yet it will be good if I can have a formal copy.

Very interested in Ver.3 as well. Probably will get one set from you later. 🙂
