Thanks for comments. Cob and Hfe was different from datasheets. Store found items fake and returned the money.

the package with the notches between the legs is unknown to me.
Is there a datasheet that confirms this style to be some new form since they took over Fairchild?

The notches extend the leakage path, and it is a valid case style. You would tend to see these more on TV parts, but with breakdowns in the 250V + regions, they make sense.

I have seen this moulding on ONSEMI parts bought from known good suppliers. I think there may be a bit of catch up on a few ONSEMI datacheets required.
Bought 10 x 2SK170's from seller 'SZ Integrated Circuit' on aliexpress. All fake.
Asked for a full refund. Don't buy there. Picture they advertise with is from a real Toshiba, but they send you fake.
Measured Idss is between 14.0 - 15.5mA. Should be below 12.0mA for BL

Why bother with fake Jfets from Aliexpress?
The one's I bought from Banzai were definitley fake.
Pinch off was way to high and Idss for the SK BL was around 15, SJ74BL had a pinchoff about 1 volt and Idss about 5-6 mA.
They had all other signs of fake as well, the cut on top to the side and to thick body.

Whatever they are, they look like CRAP! The top of the leads are heavily oxidized and the leads have been subsequently tinned, and very unevenly ... presumably to cover up the oxidation!
