Hi,
Very odd. What util are u using to write the SD card?
-Tim
I've tried With Etcher And PiWriter
It won't scan the album to library and don't show id3tag.
It may be related to only this album, I have other .dsf albums that seem to work okay. Strange.
I figured it out! The file cover art picture was too big. I resized it to 1000x1000 and now it reads id3tag! 🙂
Tim,
I did one more test.
To eliminate possibility of broken sd card, I've moved my pHat DAC and wifi dongle from PiZero to Pi2b and used the same card.
Tadaa! System woke up and all works perfectly (network, mpd, library).
Looks like there might be some incompatibility of the newest version with PiZero and Pi1B.

Update to 3.0
Tim, let me start with saying 'thank you'. What's coming next are no dealbreakers, just things I ran into and could mostly fix myself 🙂
I updated to 3.0 and got the "mpd-config: connection to mpd failed" message after saving MPD settings, but reloading the page (and restarting mpd) seemed to fix the issue. So this was after the 'mpdcfg' job, and I could still do a 'mpdrestart'.
Music was playing fine after opening 'alsamixer' via ssh and setting volume of my external usb device to 100% (I had already set it to 100% in the interface and set volume control to hardware to no avail).

Confirmed on Pi1B here..."mpd-config: connection to mpd failed" when trying to access MPD or Sources configuration pages. Also Audio Info page is blank.
Download verified and fresh install on reformatted class 10 card. (Using DD and Ubuntu)
Tried restarting MPD after ssh into Pi . MPD restarts but this doesn't have any affect on the webpages access.
The same image works fine on Pi3.

I'm having the same issue with Model B+.
Correction. It's a Pi B+ and it give's me the same mpd errors as mentioned elsewere.Same here, i use a Pi2 and a Pifi DAC+. It worked with Moode 2.7 with Hifiberry Digi+ drivers but with 3.0 i get the same errors as Jeppe.
And also no 'About' page
mpd-config: connection to mpd failed // CPUAFFINITY
Good evening Tim, all,
First time user here after several years of volumio and seriously disliking its v2.
I have a Pi B+ with an IQaudIO Pi-DAC+ and am getting the
"mpd-config: connection to mpd failed" error.
In syslog there is a pointer to the step where it fails:
Nov 28 18:15:05 moode systemd[1]: Starting Music Player Daemon...
Nov 28 18:15:05 moode systemd[1]: Started Music Player Daemon.
Nov 28 18:15:05 moode systemd[7088]: Failed at step CPUAFFINITY spawning /usr/local/bin/mpd: Invalid argument
Nov 28 18:15:05 moode systemd[1]: mpd.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=215/CPUAFFINITY
Nov 28 18:15:05 moode systemd[1]: Unit mpd.service entered failed state.
Any thoughts on how to fix / work around this?
Thanks for your consideration and for, what (still) looks like, a very appealing distro / audio player.

Hi Tim, can you advise when you will open up the Moode Case to international orders. Also do you have instructions on assembling it as it looks like it requires some desoldering.

Just upgraded to 3.0 Seems to be working fine on my PI3 using onboard audio. Tweaked the config.txt with "disable_audio_dither=1 and audio_pwm_mode=2". Nasty audio hiss now pretty much gone.
I was wondering if there is an addon available or even a command line method to perform an Equalizer function to tailor the headphone jack sound output to users preferences (jazz, setting, rock setting, etc..). Can this be done if using a DAC (IQAudio)?
Thanks and keep up the good work. This player is excellent.

Hi,
Thanks for the syslog output. Try the following:
1) sudo nano /lib/systemd/system/mpd.service
change
CPUAffinity=3
to
#CPUAffinity=3
2) sudo systemctl daemon-reload

Hi,
Thanks for the quick confirmation! I really appreciate that 🙂
Probably similar issue for Squeezelite service file on single core Pi's. I'll investigate.

LSM running on Win10 does not show Rpi B+ as a player running V. 3.0.

Hi,
Try
sudo nano /lib/systemd/system/squeezelite.service
comment out CPUAffinity param
change CPUSchedulingPolicy to rr
sudo systemctl daemon-reload

CPUSchedulingPolicy is already set to "rr". I commented out "CPUAffinity=3" but still does not show my Rpi running v. 3.
I am using the Pi 3b connected to my tube Dac which uses the XMOS X20 chip. Getting this to work is hard,, a real bear yet when it does, the SQ is great. I shutdown the PI after I am done listening so I shut of the hard drive. Today , when I booted up the PI, the MPD dis not see the USB so i hard are hard time getting it to work yet after 10-15 minutes, it did work and the sound quality is excellent. I usually use the Hifiberry Dac + Pro Dac yet mine stop working. I have one on order so i am using my tube dac. Tim,. is is possible for you to add the XMOS X20 to the devices list?
How do I restart MPD? And what does mean "Reboot, then APPLY mpd config". How do I apply and what? Please, describe steps as you would to a noob.
