ALSA Volume
What about ALSA volume? Can that fu.. Something up
Hi Martin,
Optimal settings for Hifiberry DAC+ and DAC+Pro to compensate for clipping are:
(1) Menu, Configure, MPD: Volume control = "Hardware", APPLY
(2) Menu, Customize, Hardware volume control
(a) Logarithmic curve = "Yes"
(b) Maximum volume % = 81
These settings will yield a nice logarithmic curve and 0dB overall for the device at 100% volume level (Moode knob = 100).
Regards,
Tim

Hi Martin,
Only if MPD volume control set to Software or disabled then u would want to manually set ALSA volume to 81 for Hifiberry DAC+ and DAC+Pro to prevent clipping.

Hi Tim Curtis, thank you kindly for replying to my post about SomaFm. I'm now stuck with, how do I watch video without Kodi, how do I enjoy my music without Moode?
Swapping SD Cards is one thing, dual boot would be handy here! ;-)
Kind Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
There are couple posts in the thread regarding dual boot. Here is one from kdan

Thx for the feedback. I guess I need to talk to the Hifiberry folks.
Or - just to confirm that it is not my DAC:
Perhaps somebody else, who owns the DAC+ Pro, can try to run the High Attenuation filter with e.g. 96khz material to see if everything is OK.
Thx

Hi,
I got very strange result also with dac+ pro and a 96/24 flac album. I don't remember the exact filter but there were something related to it. I might have a deeper look this week.

Hi Martin,
Moode posts the following samba shares:
NAS
SDCARD
USB
USB2
USB3
USB4
On Mac use either:
(1) Finder, Sidebar, Shared, All
(2) Finder, Go, Connect to server..., cifs://moode

I have the DAC+ pro. What shall I do to check that filter? 96K files plays fine with the MOode player 2.5 tr2 as it is.
I can confirm that Moode works fine with my Meridian Director DAC (Direct DAC in the US).
Regarding USB hotplugging is there a procedure for removing a drive safely, or is it OK to remove it just as long as it's idle?

Hi,
The drives are mounted read-only so should be able to just unplug.

Hi Tim,
Is there a way to backup the config? I did ask before but this is such a busy thread I may have missed your response. (Plus, I'm a bit lazy when it comes to checking).
Also;
I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before but anyways;
If you want to run services like Spotify, etc. Use an app like UPnPlay on your android device and set the render option to your Moode player. It's just like airplay for android.
Cheers
Andy

I am just testing this out and don't recall having this issue with Volumio which I last used a while back.
When I try to mount my nas device(Unraid server) I get
I have IP address of server in P address field.
I have /media/Music/HD_Test as my Remote directory.
Tried guest and server putty login info for my unraid server for username/password.
Help!
Retrying with upper case share name mount error(6): No such device or address Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

Hi Tim,
I've downloaded and installed TR3 and so far, so good. I'll give it a workout over the next day or so.

Hi,
Remove the leading forward slash so Remote directory looks like:
media/Music/HD_Test

file filter
Hi Tim,
I'm wondering when I add a source and Moode starts to update is there a way of filtering the type of files it looks for.
My main music file type is flac, ape,mp3 and wav, but on the same drive I have some movies in avi,mp4 and mkv etc which I don't want indexing.
Many thanks for the great work here.
Duncan

Short feedback after 3 days with the Test Release 2 (OK, a bit late, the TR3 is out 😉
With my 26314 songs collection, I was not able to break the library feature: GREAT!!!
Also the new feature that will alllow to play a whole genre, artist or album by clicking the albumart is very fine.
Little question: It is easy to set up cover aart in MPOD/PAD by just indicating the Moode URL (diyAudio server HTTPS page). For other mpd clients (Chimney for Win10 for ex, or MPDROID, or others...) they ask for an URL and a default cover file name. Is there a complete URL with default file name that we could use with Moode to display album art on thoses softs ? If I indicate cover.jpg, then it load the defaut Moode cover (the same one as http://moode.local/images/default-cover.jpg)

I tried this and set Moode as the renderer, but I can't find a way of getting Spotify to play.
Album art in MPDroid
Settings - Cover art settings:

Settings - Cover art settings:
- "Download local cover art" has to be checked
- in "Path to music": coverroot
- in "Cover filename" I entered Cover.jpg, because all my album art has this filename
