Also a great amp - built it as a stereo box - great listen but too much heat . Mono block cases built and secured last of Bud Purvine's output trannies and 509s don't break the bank
- will have it done this summer.

Is it more of an 869?
there are some slight differences (FE) between 859 and 869, but that's practically same amp
869 circ is available on web, I believe on Troells's site

Very warm, inviting glow to those tubes! Great job Bob! You're 'The Man of a Thousand Amps'.
Can't wait to hear your listening impressions when you get this one operational, especially how it compares to you other ZMonsters.

original factory made EAR 859, fully refreshed (caps, remade sockets ansamble for output tubes, with few surrounding parts), with new set of tubes........
compared with regular FW-wannabee jobbies I made ....... 859 not exactly on par, regarding frequency extremes, but fun factor certainly equal
surprisingly ( as noted in numerous articles in periodicals of Yore) muscular and potent for SE amp of 12-15W, while still having all finesse and magic of most magic SE(T) amps
and weights a ton
and is 'Talian flashy
and is totally unlike (schm) as any other
and tubes are lasting eternity
and tubes can be bought dirt cheap
and I don't have one, but I'm gonna make one, just because

@twitchie - I really liked the original. Aleksandar really summarized it in post 149.
To my ears it was outrageously close (my ears probably miss differences in high end) and the glow is .irresistible.. And then there is tube swapping 😊859 not exactly on par, regarding frequency extremes, but fun factor certainly equal
Will it sing this week...? Maybe I should point the car south to check it out 😉am working on it today…
If it works
it's ZM's ...... so you can count on every possible outcome
