How lucky are we all that you solved the mystery in one master stroke. Is Sherlock Holmes your real name? Then the first indication of fraud is simply down...Case closed !
You didn’t bother to read past first post, didn’t you? 🤣
If you're implying Pass Labs is guilty of an intentional fraud based on the results of tests on used amps whose history is unknown and an unnamed technician whose skills and equipment are still to be determined, you are treading on some slippery legal ground.FRAUD...Fraud...fraud in audio.
When I moved from Parasound to First Watt equipment it was like a veil had been lifted from the soundstage. IMHO THX is way overrated for those whose preference is HiFi, not action movies. Here's one of the most iconic figure of "high end " market telling what he REALLY KNOWS about his designs:
I remember seeing a video with NP talking about his team so I wonder if he really designs his own amplifiers ...
Oh, and your implication that Nelson farms out the design of PL amps is absurd. This thread just keeps on getting crazier and crazier...

No, I didn't...How lucky are we all that you solved the mystery in one master stroke. Is Sherlock Holmes your real name?

I said that the first implication of fraud linked to power is debatable on several grounds ...you can read all I have said, if you WANT.If you're implying Pass Labs is guilty of an intentional fraud based on the results of tests on used amps whose history is unknown and an unnamed technician whose skills and equipment are still to be determined, you are treading on some slippery legal ground.
The fuzzyness in mentioning power at no frequency or over no frequency range is unacceptable for someone educated to read 80's Kenwood service manuals though...That links in my head with JC's answers in the interview and the intentional deception that haunts all "high end " realm for decades now.
I also said that in light of @bforce documents , the second implication of fraud seems valid in the EU , just that I don't care about that stupid law who favours Bruno P. designs making class D designs worth 100 bucks of components sell for 1500 bucks.
You can choose what you wanna read though....
I attached some specs of a Kenwood amplifier made in 1980 to make a clear statement of what I consider real value high end specification in contrast with today's mambo jambo

It's November, not April...by the way...about the trading on the slippery legal grounds...I'm an EU citizen and I'm not the one trading here amplifiers past 70 watts with two large kilowatts toroids in it!
Let's just not resort to MAD panatlantic sales techniques cause nobody will win anything out of it!

You’re using quotes. Can you give me the postnumber where I said that?became " PL amp is cheatingly declared to have more watts at 1% than it is having"
The engineer in fact said that, in German, in those posted papers. And signed it.You’re using quotes. Can you give me the postnumber where I said that?
No, fraud is intentionally. Both the engineer nor me accused anyone of fraud. I could have asked the initional question more in line as Zenmod suggested but the output power specifications of PL regarding the amplifier could have been much clearer as for example member Dreamth has supplied in his post 205 about the Kenwood amp. If you are ambiguous in your statements you facilitate debate about them. The engineer in fact said that, in German, in those posted papers. And signed it.

I did use quotes in broader meaning, not in function of literally quoting anyone's writing
even if English isn't my native language, I believe actual meaning of my post is clear
I was referring to Zen Mod’s comment, about it being said that PL is cheatingly declaring distortion levels. Though not directly spelled like that, it has been implied:No, fraud is intentionally. The attached pic, and the word information falsification (if my understanding of German is still correct), correlates to saying «cheating» in my book.
I fully agree with @extremeboky's "tinkered amplifier " argument .
Being on a diy forum you could be a little more constructive and help the OP to revert his amplifiers back to the original state .
The OP could provide photos and the
reversed engineered modifications done on his monoblocks so that after reverting it back to the original state he could have the chance to listen and measure the amp at the right power if that is the problem in question.

Yes, but that is a fact having been stated long ago. The amplifier has been tampered with. But still prople go on and on as if these facts are irrelevant.I fully agree with @extremeboky's "tinkered amplifier " argument .

Iq has been reduced, in effect reducing class A envelope and increasing distortion across the audio band. Add 10-20% peak AC sag to the equation, and most all the engineers findings are logical. That is my impression of the conclusions so far.
So yes, revert to original state, verify it works as it should. Measure the AC as Papa sez, and voila: it should work as intended.
People have been constructive, the suggestions above have been stated before. Yes, we are DIYers. But is the OP a DIYer? Seems illogical to me to put issues with a commercial product in this forum before speaking with the manufacturer.
That said, there is a parallell discussion about CE. I am not engaging in that.

issue from the very start

who cares, when there are myriad of more interesting topics around
This is a troll from the OP, no one was looking for answers, just how the pass lab power rating could be so wrong...other trolls jump in as they like throwing rocks at the guy on top of the hill and all who would defend him....if we stop feeding them they will go back to the shadows and find some other goat to suck on....yes this a DIY forum where Nelson, ZM and many others give away their VAST knowledge for FREE, using it as access to Nelson to vent your dissatisfaction about unsubstantiated testing on a commercial product conducted 7 years ago is bad form, supporting and attempting to legitimize this is disrespectful trolling.

Hi andynor,
informationsverfälschung does NOT mean cheating in this case. It describes the way the signal is distorted in relaation to an undistorted (unverfälschte information = undistorted signal )
I'm a fan of the financial results of NP marketing technique , trully, deeply envious on that, not of his products in general...although I do appreciate a lot some of the designs he did for Nakamichi and Treshold. He looks better in his 70's than his products though...
