I got the FETs today. thanks. by the way, what are those number on the FET stand for? for example, on two of the IRF240, I have 4190 and on the other one I have 4195. what is that mean? thanks a lot.
The little stickers on the fets are the Ugs in mV. So 4195 means an Ugs of 4,195V.
The highest number minus the lowest number is the deviation of the set in mV.
I aim at 2mv for a pair and 5mv for a set of 3.
The Ugs is measured with a 5 digit meter and the last one is rounded.
I hope this helps.
dinu said:Marcel,
When you measure the Vgs, what is the Drain/Source current?
Hi Dinu,
The current is (15 - Ugs)/50Ohm ~ 220mA for the IRFP's and ~22mA for the IRF's
Please be aware that the UGS is influenced by the chip temperature.

Hi Dinu...You are defenately not forgotten!!!
As you need a close match, more fets are currently on their way to me. Normally it is not a big problem to get 2 sets of 9240 out of the fets ordered, as I get fets from the same wafer.
You are on the top of the list. As soon as the fets arrive, I will make the sets and send them to you.
Re: irfp044N
If you go for IRFP240's I can help you.

Have you something like ?

😀 😀 finally, I got them.
Thanks!

Hi Vale,
Then the shipment took ~3 weeks to Milan. How long are those siesta's in Italy?
I hope it was worth the wait?
Marcel.
Hi Marcel,
the fets are perfect, thanks 🙂
the italian postal service is very unpredictable, 9 days from Canada 25 from Netherland who knows?!😕

Hi Marcel,
I'm starting to build my Aleph P1.7. I'll will be greatful if you could help me with the matched IRFs.
I need 5 pairs of IRF610 and 3 pairs of IRF9610. That includes a spare pair of each.
Thanks in advance.
Richie

I got those babies yesterday. Nice!!
Thank you.
I was curious how you match them though. Did you make your own test bench or buy one or what? How do you keep them all at the same temp when you test?

Dinu,
I'm glad that you liked the result.
I use a temperature controlled 15mm aluminium plate where all the fets put on during the process. Then each fet is measured with a 5 digit meter. The result is automatically stored in a excell sheet that prints the labels.
i use the excell sheet to sort the fets and plan the sets as well as keep track what amplifier has what sets.
Well you definately have a solid process there and the price is great. I think the cost for all the fets I bought from you matched was almost the same as I would have paid at Digikey for unmatched parts.
Thanks Again
Thanks Again

Nice setup Marcel... I have the meter to do this, but the temp control, etc... not. I'm glad I decided to just get them matched from you instead of doing it myself.
BTW, my FETs arrived today also and look great. Thanks for such great service!
Best regards,
Chris
